You can get your Race Specific equipment from The Goblin Tailor, a quest in Lower Jeuno.

If God really hated you, the draft would be imposed overnight and you'd be the first one drafted into the Marines, as an infantryman. Even if you're a female.
Nothing against the Marines (I've met a few and they've been great guys). I appreciate the fact that they go in first. I know they're proud of it, but it's not my thing.
What exactly is BCNM and Ballista?
BCNM is Burning Circle Notorious Monster. They're usually level capped and capped at six people. Different BCNMs yield different rewards, ranging from equipment, to lucrative items, to spells, what-have-you. They're usually a test of skill (or in some cases, a test of how many DD you can throw at something.)
Ballista is FFXI's version of PVP. In it, you can kill your opponents, score points by tossing petras into rooks, and gain exp and points at the end of the match.

What's the purpose of Ballista chevrons? I know you can get gold, silver etc as well as job-specific. But what do you actually gain by earning them?
I just have a quick question about how much I should charge for items that you can't post in the AH. I'm mainly talking about Diatryma meat. But, if anyone could post a partial list on what items can't be posted at the AH and state what the going price is for those items, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. ^^
