sea: This is part of the CoP expansion and is accessable only after completing PM7-3 (I think this is right anyway. It might be 7-2 or 7-4). Since I am currently only on PM7-1, I do not yet know how this area is accessed. I think that it might be accessed through Movalpolos.

Close....it's accessed via an airship ride from Sealion's Den.

Yes, I finally finsihed this up a few nights ago. The storyline had lead me to believe that it was going to somehow be accessed through Movopalis, but this is MUCH better.

I am wondering if there is any way to determine when a latent effect is activated. I know some gear is activated by a certain amount of HP. I also know that some gear is activated by having a certain job/sub equipped. I just want to know if there is any way to tell in-game if the equipment is activated by the job or low HP before spending unnecessary amounts of gil to test out each and every piece of equipment that has a latent effect on it.

Why do people fall in love in this game? Is there nothing outside of the game for them?

What is "kiting"? I figure it has something to do with tanking...

The way my LS does Garrisons, we have one mob "kited" while we deal with the rest during each round.

The person kiting (usually a NIN/WAR or melee/NIN for blinks) drags the monster away from the rest of the fight, until we've finished the mobs we've got. Then they bring back the mob, we kill it fast, and that finishes the round.

why do people sub nin to war before 50?

Kiting implied that a character draws hate from the mob and run around while his team mates tries to damage it. Most of the time, some sort of enfeeb spell on the mob helps the kiter not get killed (para, grav etc.) Kiting is useless if you can't out run the mob thus you need it to be slowed with grav or you need to be fast (Crimson pants, ninja af boots at night etc.) Reasons for kiting could be, the mob do too much damage when you straight tank, certain spells = death or close to (I.E. Meteor,) or to buy some time while teammates kill other things, etc. Its called Kiting because you run around and the mob chasing you sorta like flying a kite.

Thanks for the response everyone....and now another question:

I was browsing IRON's forums to look at the pictures from Dynamis, and inbetween holding my face and crying because I most likely will never see it, and eyeballing the drops and mobs I saw someone refer to the Monster Gloves as "bst gdi"...

What does that mean?
The "gdi" part? ;D

TIA

I have a question. When I go fighting, I will be fighting a monster and doing pretty well, when all of a sudden some random other monster decides to help him out. Ok, fine so 2 want to play, right? I proceed to kill the initial baddie, but as soon as it dies, my character puts away the weapons! Meanwhile this other totally non involved loser monster is pummeling me to teh ground. THEN the game has the nerve to tell me I can't even attack it because I have to wait for a while(usually until I have like 10Hp remaining). Is there any way to stop this? I am kinda low level and new so this actually does make a difference. Thanks.

Turn your auto target "on" in teh config menu. That way, if some random mob decides to start bashing your skull in, once the first mob is down you will automatically go after the second one without putting your pigsticker/club/beatin' stick away.

You take a bunch of 65+ players who are willing to die for their AF2 set (The set that is only obtainable through the Notorious Monsters that appear in Dynamis.) and set their asses loose. You have your mages constantly raising people, your Thief stading around poking things doing pretty much nothing but shooting off Shark Bite here and there for skillchains, you got your tanks ATTEMPTING to tank, which doesn't work too well since there's usually too many people whacking the hell out of the mob for it to be too effective. You got your RDM trying like hell to stick enfeebles (Unless of course they are 75. Which most of them usually are.) and you got BSTs and SMNs pulling.

I'm not from your server, but I used to do Dynamis on an old WHM that I had at 73. Trust me, it's nothing like I said...but at the same time, it is. >_>

It's just an experience that is hard to explain. But the whole PURPOSE of doing it is so you can get your AF2 peices, or if you are trying to upgrade the relic weapons, the NMs in there also drop Ancient Currency that is needed to upgrade relic weapons.

PS: I only mentioned the jobs that were in my old Dynamis LS. I did my first Dynamis not too long after Rise to Zilart was released, so I didn't see any NIN's or DRG's. And we didn't have any DRKs or WARs. (We had a LOT of Monks and Thieves. And I think we had a few melee RDMs for sword chains.)

Check out that link and click on Dynamis.

I really can't speak about the weapons myself, but they are "the best" weapons for each class, and cost insane amounts of Dynamis money to upgrade completely.
