Hey Zylle,

First of all you don't need Anima to beat any boss. And you don't need uber gear. As long as your level 30 you can go.

I did Mea with a rag-tag group pretty easy. We had no anima, no one was twinked and it was the first try for most of the party. WE did it, and what an accomplishment. It was a ton of fun.
The reason why we won was because as a party we paid attention and knew how to play our classes. That is all you need for Promys.

Good Luck.

Well, the problem is that forming a group of knowledgeable individuals like that is a rare shot (a lot of people still think you need 18 people to do Promyvion, which is simply not true), so having animas is a *very* good idea. I'd go so far as to say that you're really in trouble in Dem without them, as you just won't be able to do enough damage to kill the boss without having two high-power 2HRs with you (IE - RNG or SMN) to down the boss when he starts spamming Spirit Absorption and Fission.

And Dem's supposed to be the easiest.

Basically, the best bet is to just be prepared. Bring battle-appropriate supplies for each person and you'll probably be fine. Tanks need HiPots, and depending on which battle you're going to, Poison Potions/Antidotes/Holy Water/Eye Drops/Echo Drops.

Zylle, just for reference, i did Promy holla this weekend with 4 slight changes to the gear u currently have.

1. I didn't bring a shield.
2. I had the Plus+2 onyx earring (+4 more mp, not a big deal)
3. I had an updated belt, there is a really nice one u can get at level 28(ish) thats fairly inexpensive(I'm gonna say 5k), but again, not necessary.
4. Holy Phial

I agree with the above statements in that its not really necessary for mages to have really really good gear(its really only important for the tanks). But you have to be decently equipped, which you are ^^. Couple pointers...always bring a pie and a yag drink...the worst thing that could ever happen to you is runnin out of mp. Have a DS+ Cure 2 or 3 macro setup cause when they start hitting hard, you're gonna need it. Bring at least 3 ethers and have them macroed as well.

As long as the tank has a couple hi potions, you should be fine. Good luck ^^.

here's one:

what's the f-ing deal with lotting for treasure?

i personally think it's a fine way to settle the OMFGIWANT THAT FIRECRYSTAL argument quickly and calmly, without the need to share a language. the numbers generated are random, and thus fair, so why do people get so bent out of shape about it? and how in the world can they ABSOLUTELY INSIST that a random number generator is somehow unfair?

"OMG n00b stop lotting! if you lot in high level party people will kick you out!" is what i got last night for lotting crystals (i'm a starting crafter, so c'mon). my response was simply if i'm gonna be in a high level pt, it won't be a crap game of pick-up in teh d00ns, and someone will most likely be elected quartermaster, lotting only on seals/quest items as needed.

somebody help me out here. i guess i'm looking for an etiquette lesson, but i really don't see how i'm going about anything wrongly, since i fully expect to lose my fair share of lots. because the system, you know, works.

No idea Stegan. As long as ya run it by the party first, the only problems would be if they'r as[sm][/sm]sholes or quietly quartermastering it. When I've gone crystal hunting with LS buddies, we divy up crystals. Since I'm a smith, I'll get fire crystals. The cook would get water crystals, wood worker wind, etc. No complients since it's agreed upon.

if your in an xp party, maybe you should be worried about the fight, and not the treasure

agreed, but it only takes two seconds to lot a whole page of drops, and the timeout to lot or pass is at least a minute long, though i haven't timed it. your point is valid, but i fail to see how it cannot be worked into the rhythm of pulls. anyway, my main concern is still the perception that it is somehow unfair.

this is just something that bugs me, and is a topic that i feel would benefit from some ethical debate.

Wasn't my idea, so I can't claim credit, but it completely works out. I've got my own method for it, if I end up doing it solo. Just keep my level at 5 or below and go farming. If I end up going over 6, I delevel back to 4. So, yeah, it's time consuming, but saves on the gil aspect. Another idea for ya to try is if you're a woodworking in the Linkshell, get someone into blacksmithing so they can make boltheads. Another Linkshell buddy is doing woodyworking. He'll need to do darksteel boltheads. I'm at the stage where I need to synth darksteel boltheads. We've got an economic trade agreement going. Just an idea.

I'm kinda confused as to certain search comments.

Ex. WHM 53/BLM 26 @4500 EXP

is @4500 EXP the amount to the next level, or the amount s/he currently has?

When you see @xxxxx it refers to how much tnl.

I'm currently @16,000 on my war,

It's a Japanese thing, like saying '@' when sneak/invis run out.

Light = Fire Light Thunder Wind
Dark = Earth Dark Ice Water

Burst with any of those elements for their respective skillchain.

I have a quick question someone here may be able to help me with:

I've seen a lot of screenshots and movies in which peoples' chat logs are configured to float one or two lines of linkshell text (and maybe party chat) in a secondary window on top of the normal chat log. It's similar to what happens if you're talking to a NPC or viewing a cutscene and the current message/prompt is forced off the chat log due to other messages scrolling in.

Sorry if I'm not making any sense, it's difficult to explain without an example on hand to link to. In the NPC scenario above, the chat log would look something like:

----------------------------------------------------
| Moogle: Hey Kupo, I have great news! >> | (floating window)
----------------------------------------------------
| Dude: So when are we doing eco-warrior? |
| Studlygalka catches a Moat Carp! | (normal chat log)
| Someguy: (Uber Axe)(Do you need it?) 10M (/tell) |
----------------------------------------------------

I swear I read that this could be enabled for LS & party chat via turning on something like "Hold mode", but for the life of me I can't find anything that does this. Maybe it's a PS2 option only... I'm on PC.

At any rate, if anyone could clear this up for me I'd appreciate it ;)

Easy fix,

Set your chat filter for Linkshell chat to "Hold" then it should work.

<Same thing can be done with Tells and PT chat>

Water Closet, also known as the pisser, toilet or ******* :P. Don't worry, i was well into my 50's before i understood that one as well.

Here's my noob question: 'Sky' i know...but what does 'Moon' mean? I also see 'sea' as well. where are these areas?

WC= Water Closet = Bathroom

Moon: A place after the moon gate in Ro'maure with mobs to level for 70+ without having to enter Sky. I think the gate only open on Full moon and then you have to look for a random ???? and click it to get a key item called the moongate. Afterward you can enter anytime. Only one person per party need the key item to enter. Mobs in there aggro Magic so its kind of a hassle (and expensive) to sneak. Some people never level in Moon at all, so its not a thing that's Required.

Ok, after bombing my last response so bad, I'll give this one a shot:

sky: This area is accessable after completing Zliart Mission 13. It is located by passing through a gate in Ro'Maeve.

moon: This area is accessable through the Moon Gates in Ro'Maeve. It is only accessable if you have a moon pass or if it is currently a full moon. You obtain the moon pass by going in during the full moon and finding a ???. Examining it will get you a moon pass.

sea: This is part of the CoP expansion and is accessable only after completing PM7-3 (I think this is right anyway. It might be 7-2 or 7-4). Since I am currently only on PM7-1, I do not yet know how this area is accessed. I think that it might be accessed through Movalpolos.

Hope that helps.

Uh just multiply 24x40 and you will get your answer bro but in case you are as lazy as I tend to be your play time in hours is 960 if i'm not mistaken (it would not be the first time.) Hope that helps.

Close....it's accessed via an airship ride from Sealion's Den.
