I call this proof that Belgarath never e-mailed the admins to get this thread quashed. :P

I am curious how many people some of you that posted here have on your blist. I started playing in February and have a lvl 75 rdm amongst other jobs I've played with. I've met many people during my time. Beginners, vets, NA, JP, some nice, others not so nice and everyone else in between. During all my time I've only blisted 1 person. Maybe I am more patient or forgiving I don't know.

If someone harrasses you, yes then by all means blist that person. But to blist someone who you consider to be an idiot over an argument is downright petty. Basically you're holding a grudge against that person and defaming his/her character. As someone pointed out, not many people read this board and many of the people on this list might be on here unjustly without a chance to defend themselves. Reputation means everything in this game.

When I first started playing I didn't know a single person. I didn't know what a skillchain was or how to mb. My very first PT was when I was a lvl 10 rdm in konstadt with a lvl 10 war. He engaged a lizzy and instead of pressing alt-1 , I hit alt-tab by mistake. When I reconnected he was at a sliver of life and asked me why I didn't heal him. I told him I alt-tabbed by mistake and he decided not to PT with me again. From my point of view I made a simple mistake but to him I could have been a bad player.

People will have their bad days and make mistakes. People will not always agree with you or help you just because you are friends. It's human nature to put one's self interest before others. If you are the type of person that will ignore everyone you have an argument with in RL or hold a grudge against people forever then you will end up being a lonely bitter person.

Most of the people on this list were from incidents in dunes/qufim/khazam. If you expect eevryone in those areas to be as well informed as some of you then you are in for quite a shock. Educated beginning players. Make sure your approach on the matter will not make them feel defensive.

Sorry for the rather lengthy post but threads like this really don't accomplish anything. Post warnings about scammers and thieves, people who enjoy harassing others, repeat mpk'ers who deserve to be blisted. Telling others to blist people who you consider in your opinion to be bad players is nothing short of a personal vendetta. The person you consider to be a bad player today may be one of the best months down the road. Yet you will never know this or benefit from it.

I've read many times there's no feeling of community in FFXI. Threads like this are a prime example why. It's easier to blist someone rather than working to resolve differences.

No one is telling anyone else to blist someone in this thread. We're simply telling people who to watch out for.

I don't blacklist people that play bad because there will always be bad players.

However, i do not think that direct insults are excusable...at all! So, plain and simply, i blist people that offend me to the point that i would no longer wish to communcate or party with again. And i do try and warn people about the select few really bad eggs because with some of them, as shown in the past few days on this forum, this behavior is a repeating pattern.

I understand what you are trying to do but therein lies the problem. Unless there is some uniform guideline defining what a good player is as opposed to a bad one, then most of the names on this list are the result of subjective personal opinion. I realize alot of it will be common sense. However, what is common sense to experienced players in not the same for beginners.

I myself expect nothing spectacular from dunes/qufim/khazam areas. If Pt members use food and know how to skillchain properly then I am pleased. If they do not then at least I will not be disappointed.

The people who are generally incompetant will be weeded out post level 60. Although quite a few of them do manage to squeak by somehow. To me threads like this are nothing but elitism against inexperienced players. The same elitism some of you say the lvl 75 rank 10 players unjustly impose upon you.

With all due, respect, if you'd read the thread, you'd've seen that not all of us are doing that. What the majority of us have been doing is NOT pointing out noobish errors. What we HAVE been pointing out is overall out-and-out idiocy in a lot of cases.

Is it elitist to expect better of a player and not have them reduced to mere pawning idiots acting like total tools in any given situation?

EDIT: Awesome. Thanks for the rate down. Maybe you're the one that's being just a tad elitist, hmm? :)

Wow, a reply from the great Alla himself, we should feel honored :)

What this idiot doesn't realize is the more we post, the more we rate him down, and the less of a chance he ever has of having a serious post be seen ANYWHERE on Allakhazam.

Hrmmm, I'm not quite sure where this thread has gone but:

The other day I overheard in /say a Mithra talking about calling a GM. Now out of sheer curiosity I asked her what had happened. She told me that someone named Libien had been running a casino with a 10k maximum bet. This Mithra, being bored and slightly tired, decided to take up the bet and put up her 10k. Libien then ran off with her gil without allowing her to roll. When she asked him to give her her money back he bragged about how she couldn't do anything about it and that he'd get away scot free. This Mithra discussed the matter with a GM who said that Libien has been suspended before for violating the TOS or something of the like. Libien gave the money he stole to his friend Savont who was holding it for him and knew that he had stolen it.

Now as she told me this I was really very dismayed. It boiled down to outright theft and I immediately told my LS, and my BF who was PTing at that moment. He told his PT and Savont and Libien were /blisted by a large number of people. One person from the PT, Jimbo, convinced Savont that he would have to return the money and he did.

I don't know if either Libien or Savont have been duly punished but Savont from what I have heard has quit the game. Please be wary of participating in any casinos, especially any one run by Libien. I promised that Mithra that I would try to make the Bismarck community aware of these two, as it isn't a matter of them being impolite, or even poor players, but a serious lack of ethics.

Speaking of Jimbo from the last post, I had a bad encounter with him.

No place to party in Kazham, so we roll out to Batallia to try to get what xp we can. All seems to be going well, then Jimbo begins to think he knows best and he should be in charge. Refuses to pull to a set camp, wants to wander around exposing our group to random spawns and such. Next we replace a War with a Ninja, and not 15 minutes later he is complaining that the Ninja is taking big damage when his shadows are down, mind you Jimbo was a War and was not voking off the Ninjs so we could recast safely, I was having to, as a mnk.
Then in the middle of a fight instead of helping he begins to wander around the mage in circles. I kicked him from the party, and blisted him for this, couldn't take anymore of his antics or his attitude.

Wintaru Scholar, I also find it quite amusing that TheonetrueBelgarath Sub-Default keeps calling you that. (Actually if I were to quote him, It would be more like Wintaru Schalor, whatever that is))

I also find it quite amusing that we had a special visitor. I believe I saw the blinking eyes of a certain Admin in here.

But, OH MY GOD, this thread is still here?!?!?!?

Interesting you should say that. Some people might argue that the sharing of information about people who have acted poorly in a group constitutes a large part of what a community *is*.

Cheers!

Oh yes you're right. I mean people would never embellish their side of the story or omit facts that would make them look partially at fault. No, people don't do that. Never.

Oh and to the person who implied I rated them down. I don't bother rating posters because these little titles are meaningless to me. I've read too many posts by "sages" and "scholars" who are nothing but complete idiots.
