Is it cool our gas stations here are called convenience stores? We all call them Gas Stations, but if there wan't a gas pump out front they would be mini stores.
Anyway... they sell pizza from one. It can't be a regional one, maybe it is... Casey's convenience store. They are all over the place here, almost every town with a population over 600 has one. They sell this craptastic pizza that most around the area enjoy. It has a thick, bready crust and a thin bottom. Comes with a ton of tomato paste and cheese on it (with w/ meat topping you want). I can't really stand to eat it fresh, but let it sit in the fridge for 12hours and it makes for pretty OK cold pizza.

Then there are a few Italian owned restaurants. Both have their own pizza, and use their own spices. These places are more like "in the mood" pizzas.
Like the convenience store, subways, and other things you get in every small town around here, there is also a Pizza Chain that seems to be regional to only a small part of South/SW/Mid IL and it is called Little Italy's. I enjoy this place, while it is hit or miss with others. They seem to be the only place that does odd toppings.
There are also the chain placed (Hut, Domino's, etc) but you have to go 20+min (to a larger town hub) to get there.
The STL style pizza is my fav. Super thin wafer crust type pizza. Emo's is the best for it, they also use provolone for their cheese. This seems to make people like or hate it.
At one time I loved and could eat it everyday (because the Turtles did!) and then when Casey's came into my life I found my self hating it. Today I'm really picky about pizza. I'm enjoy Wood Fired pizza and unique toppings.
Now if only I could make awesome gyro, or the nearest decent gyro place wasn't almost an hour away -.-
