Imo resale shops > everything else. I think thats always been the case for me, not because i was poor (though i definitely am now), but because you could at the very least find some nice materials to make some shirts and skirts out of there. Pillowcases for instance make pretty decent skirts if you can do enough fixing in the right places to it. But then again, I don't imagine the guys of the OoT are going to be walking around with old 70's designs sewn up t-shirts, so its a bit more viable for girls.
When I was in college, the first time, I used to shop at this super-chic vintage clothing store. It was great, they had all kinds of stuff that I could have purchased at the Salvation Army or Goodwill but I got to pay department store prices instead of feeling like a poor person.
Sixty bucks for a pair of jeans that has languished in a box in someone's garage since the early seventies? Yes sir, you got yourself a deal!
************ that. I still shop at Salvation Army as if I am as broke now as I was back when I was younger.
Seriously, Salvation Army may be the greatest institution this United States has to offer.
