I think that skeet is just upset that I didnt provide any praise for s/him. Or is the trunk the evil skeet? I will be honest, I usually skip past s/his posts anyway (lol I make me laugh).
Oh hey Psychojester Smartypants... On the subject of the good lord vs. the evil lord, let me break it on down for you. Good Lord would be God. Evil Lord would be the Devil or Satan.
Let's use christianity as the backdrop for this discussion. If there is a Good Lord "running around" blessing peeps, then I would assume that the Evil Lord is also "running around" out there blessing peeps. There is no light without the dark. Additionally, in the christian belief system (if we can call it that), I think most would agree that there is a devil.. in fact, satan himself is commonly believed to have been an angel forced out of heaven. I would also argue that Satan, being a supernatual or spirit-based being, also has some pretty cool powers, maybe not as strong as the G-man, but I bet he has some good ones.
However, your statement that it "ain't blessin' he's doin" just strikes me as wrong. Is there really a positive or "good" meaning embedded in the word blessing? Or does blessing simply refer to the supernatural act of using one's powers to affect a being in some way? Perhaps the reason we associate blessing with goodness, is because we typically think of the good lord as doing the blessing. So lets not be so quick to say the Devil is not spreading the blessing around.
If I were a Satanist, what would prevent me from using the word "blessing" to describe the supernatural act(s) of my Evil Lord bestowing some kind of gift upon me? In that situation, the Christian sees the blessing as a negative thing because, chances are, the gift would not be of the same variety that their "Good" lord doles out. But to the satanist, why can't this be a blessing? I would argue that the real meaning of blessing lies in the act of transferring some supernatual something-or-other, independent of whether that something-or-other maybe defined as good or bad given your personal belief system.
So yes, I felt that I had to specify the "Good" Lord, lest all of you should think I am a Satanist, which I am not.
Anyhow, many thanks to those of you who warmly welcomed me, and I look forward to fighting the evil <snicker - pun intended> residing in those of you who shall attempt to obstruct me.
Is that better?
Talk to you later NEW FRIENDS!!
ps - jester your signature quote is way too long... and lame.
