Problem with Monitor/New Video Card?Follow

I recently got a new ATI Radeon X1600 graphics card, but once I replaced my old card, (an ATI Radeon 9200), my display started acting weird. It became blurry and images were duplicated (ghost images is the correct term, I think?) and there is a small dark spot on the right side of the display. When I turn up the refresh rate on the monitor from 60hz to 75hz, the problem worsens. I also don't notice any problems while playing games in full screen mode.

Is it time for a new monitor or is it a problem with my new video card?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

That computer model uses a 200 watt power supply.

That card requires a minimum of a 420 Watt ATX 2.0 or greater power supply with a peak dissipation above 75 watts.

Discontinue using the computer immidiatly and pull that card until you can upgrade the supply. You will probably need to replace the case to make a new power supply fit as the HP power supply is not standard size.

You may also have a bent monitor cable pin, but thats not the main issue here. Chances are the card itself may be damaged if you have used it for any length of time.

Any 420W power supply should work.
