Finally got my $330 viewsonic 2025 lcd monitor from newegg (their 3 day shiping is bogus, they sent it ups ground, about 7 day to deliver but charged me the 3 day ups rate... no dead nor locked pixels) well considering i was using a recently defective 8 yr old crt viewsonic GS-815, seeing the vivid colours again in gaming and the lcd costing less than half what i payed for the crt one only wonders why anybody still uses crt; well one reason might be the difficulty in reading text lettering. On non white backgrounds the black lettering has a same letter white image less than the width of the black letter to it's side; same letter just in white and slighty shifted to the side of the black letter, making it tiresom to read long text. Is this a characteristic of LCD, or is there some focus, or other option to remove that white letter distraction?

For gaming this wide screen lcd is quite adequate. And for $330 quite the bargin.

Any know about the next big thing in monitors... the upcoming LED that will replace the LCD, like the LCD replaced the CRT. So far the led displays are limited to small cell phone type displays... guess in current production tech a 21-24" led display is still a few years away.
Or mayby holographic dome displays?
