WTF was that Maz? Also, yay I have Star Wars! Got to level 10 playing for about 4 or 5 hours. The only thing I did different from in the beta was I fed that green dude more food instead of poisoning him. And that was purely by accident lol.

The weird part of YouTube, I guess.

It was so random, I just had to link it.

There was a secondary conversation going on about the new Heroics and how mandatory they are, too.

But yeah. Anywho, my friends are making a huge pot of chili tonight. Yum.

You adorable Texans, you.

Adorable? This crime against all that is holy is what we made tonight:

The only differences were that we didn't use Four Loko or sour cream, and there were a lot more of us.

Oh my God was it good.

Watching epic meal time both gives me a stomach ache by proxy, and makes my brain hurt.

But Star Wars is awesome. ^_^ Got a level 13 Sorcerer, and I made my Trooper right before logging off.

Lemme know how TOR matches up against WoW, specifically what's known about end game and such. If it's good I may or may not try the free trial whenever that appears.

I've pretty much already given up on ToR, and gone back to WoW, a lot quicker than I thought I would. The game just feels insanely grindy to me. I hit level 10 and it felt like a brick wall of experience. I was hoping the gameplay would keep the game entertaining, because any Star Wars lore that I want to get, I get it from books, rather than sitting through boring *** conversations, but that's just my opinion, you'll probably want some more.

Wait, what?

You realize that all the "go kill x" bonus quests are optional, right?

Well yeah, it takes a lot longer to gain levels after you leave your starting area, but that doesn't make the game grindy. If you don't like the conversations though, I can see why you might get bored. Frankly I love them. The only thing I don't like, is that I feel the need to mute/pause the TV when they pop up.

I'll definitely let you know Aeth. AFAIK, there isn't anything known about end game yet. I've certainly not seen any reports on it yet.

I'll be playing D3 first before I'm going to even think about trying out MMO's and right now I'm entertaining myself with D2.

If you don't like the conversation dynamic, then there's a fair chance that TOR isn't for you. But I don't think that grindy in any way sums up TOR. It's easily the least grindy MMO I've ever played.

Maybe the memories of FFXI and Vanilla WoW are just too fresh in my mind though.

My issue with most BioWare slash RPG "let's talk for 20 minutes before getting to the point, ahem, Bethesda" games is that I enable subtitles because my English isn't perfect, but it's good enough that I read the entire subtitle before the poor guy can even get through half of it verbally.

I end up spamming that Spacebar or mouse button to get to the next subtitle because I already know what the dude is going to say. It turns into a mini-game of "how fast can you hit Spacebar without missing the conversation?" And even if I do miss the conversation, it's no biggie as the journal/quest log/mission whatever/diary will give me the short version of the long *** conversation in bullet points. The "blahblah my wife and kid blahblah revenge blah bring me blahbleargh pay you handsomely" snooze fest thing turns out to actually be:

* Kill <dude> because he killed <quest giver>'s family.
* Reward: <#> gold/experience
* Reward: <item>

I mean, I enjoy the atmosphere and lore in Skyrim, but when you're recycling three different voice actors, number 100th quest to go kill someone because he killed someone just loses some flavor.

I decided there were too many Twi'leks running around, and I've barely seen any female Purebloods, so I rerolled. I figured it'd be best to do it now, instead of later since I only had 13 hours invested in the character thus far.

Ehh, TOR probably isn't my sort of game, I found the quest text in WoW too much to bother with half the time.
Hell, I don't read/listen to what the NPC's have to say in Diablo and there's less than 30 quests in that game.

Well, for what it's worth, you can hit the space bar to skip through the cut scenes if you don't want to listen to them.

Woo purebloods!

My only complaints with TOR right now are that my PC chokes on it if I don't turn the resolution down and that the voice actors are divided by class and not by race. So a human Sith Warrior sounds exactly like a pureblood. It gets...weird when you get into groups.
