My question in particular:

Does the set bonus require Tailoring to proc? I'm specifically looking for someone who has had this set and has had it either proc, or go for a VERY long time with no procs.

Based on the fact that it does not list it as a requirement, either on the item or on the procced buff's description, I don't see that it would. However, most everywhere I go, there's one or two random guys that says it does.

Example:

1st of all YES you need 350 tailoring to get the set bonus
2nd of all the proc rate is quite good around 5-8% and also can be renewed
this set is very worth it not only for the proc but the raw stats on it are
invaluable for any caster

While I believe that people such as this are incorrect, I'd like to get more evidence to one side or the other before I make the decision to have some crafted for me(had a guildie get the patterns this weekend and I'm looking at having him make me some).

Thanks for your help.

yes, it requires 350 Tailoring for the bonus, not to equip it.

You can notice by this. Sets that require a certain Tailoring level to use will say "requires *X*" under the stats, Durability, and Level requirement.

Spellstrike says nothing until "Spellstrike Infusion 0/2" then says Requires 350 tailoring.

But that's the thing...I'm not seeing it anywhere on here nor do I remember seeing it on the gear(though it's been a while since I looked at the gear in game).

However, it does say something on Thott(which I hate going to...always have, even before I was a major fan of Allakhazam...just never liked the setup).

But it's good to know, since I really don't want to pick up Tailoring since I'm planning on picking up Jewelcrafting for the good of the guild and I love my Enchanting too much to give it up.

While those pieces remain good items, I guess I'll probably not pick em up as I can't justify the cost.

However, it makes me want 4 pieces of Mana-Etched a little more. Smiley: smile

I have one of the patterns and I double checked the wording before I posted, so what I said was accurate.

Here is a link to an in-game pic.

I didn't really doubt ya, just confused as it isn't listed here(nor is it listed on the patterns themselves, I think, which is what I've actually looked at in game).

Yea, I can't recal if the pattern said it, but the item itself does =/

Oh well, I'll just have to be content allowing that one rogue catch me on damage after the change to glancing blows coming up. Smiley: frown

Unless, of course, I can get me a Lightning Capacitor. Then it's "Game On" once again. Smiley: grin

I have Spellstrike. Sadly for you Poldaran, this guy:

Is dead on with what he says. I love it, I also recommend Spellfire, those two complete sets make for a damage output that's kinda scary.

Specced at 40 fire 21 Arcane I am running +890 or so to fire and 30% to crit with fire spells in my PvE gear.

In PvP gear I have about 25% crit and 750 or so + to fire.

Yeah, I know. I'd done the math and it's sick the damage that can be done. However, I'm still debating picking up jewelcrafting for the good of the guild, as no one has the rep to buy patterns that I do in guild.

Not to mention that I have an unneccesary attachment to really cool looking gear, and T4 is REALLY cool looking.
