It also results in not wanting to spend any more money on clothes than what's strictly needed which doesn't help looks either.
Living with 3 girls helps a lot with that too. Smiley: rolleyes

Shoes are something like this brown one, only a darker brown, and the bottom is less boot like and more shoe like (if that makes any sense): linky. The actual shoe I got was discontinued a couple of years back, so I can't seen to find a picture (also how I ended up with them, yay sale! Smiley: lol).

Anyway more power to you fashion coordinated people of the world and such, but yeah, it's not me.

That's better than the ones I linked, still not stellar though.

Looking fashionable really doesn't have to be expensive, Levi's are cheap and good (501, 511, 514 are the ones you want I think, based on bodyshape), Uniqlo is cheap and good for OCBD's (oxford cloth shirts) and they've got good sweaters as well, basic t-shirts and under shirts from I think Target (Mossimo brand) are good and cheap, the CDB's I linked on the last page are usually under $100 and will last you ages as they're super simple shoes, they're also great business casual shoes with jeans, cords or chinos (olive, navy & khaki coloured at least) etc. It's not like you need tons of those either, 2 jeans and 2 or 3 chinos gets you a long way and 6 or 7 button down shirts isn't a terrible expense either and if you're smart about which colours you buy it requires next to no thought in the morning.

Oh and should you ever feel like spending big money on shoes, Red wing Beckman's or Iron Rangers are great boots that will last an eternity and then some so at $300 they're pretty good value for money. They have the added bonus of being steel toed as well although that's probably not much of an advantage in a lab. Smiley: lol

Mossimo makes underwear that fits shockingly well, actually. Fits me better than anything else I've tried. A shame there's not a bigger selection.

I've got to say, GW2 has come leaps and bounds as far as storytelling is concerned.

This latest update is an epilogue to the major arc they have been running with since January 2013, and oh boy the feels.

You wear the same blue jeans and whatever shirt happens to be on top of the pile 95% of the time.

I guess I have a couple of pairs of dress shoes that get worn once a year if I'm lucky. There's a pair of decent running shoes and a pair of flip flops that see some action, but that's about all I can claim.

Dressing simple makes life simple. Smiley: nod

i dont even own shoes any more

been wearing slippers to work for well over a year now

Hey digglett, you really should try playing Borderlands 2 some more. I've found that I'm getting a lot less terrible at shooting stuff up and all that twitchy stuff and the story and world building is pretty well done for as far as I've come. Some nice twists too.

I was enjoying the little I played. Since I have the PS3 version, I might as well bump it up my list. Thanks, Aeth. Smiley: nod

I want to get a 3DS. I'm waiting for a sale though. When I find one, what games should I get?

Fire Emblem Awakening, Pokemon XY, A Link Between Worlds - all easy recommendations.

I just started Tales of the Abyss. Will report back on how that is.

Also, in my daily anxiety disorder update...

Team Meeting today involved envelope stuffing for a mass mailing, because we've had staffing issues.

That's really fun and easy to do when you're hands are shaking from a panic attack. And THAT'S particularly awesome, when you already took something for anxiety to preempt the panic attack and it happens anyway (Benadryl).

We're in the middle of a break, because we had a webinar training scheduled, and the attack is subsiding... Round 2...

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team was good, too. I had fun with Etrian Odysseus, but dungeon crawling is more of a niche. Oh, Bravely Default is probably a must.

I tried out a friends XL 3DS and was really impressed. the 3d effect is nice and really easy to see and use. I've wanted a fun mobile gaming platform for a while, so this will hit the spot. And given my budget for fun is much lower for a while given my recent acquisition of a house, this should still fit.

It's something you'll never use, and a bigger card if you plan on downloading a lot of games.

The 3D is cool, but it hurts my eyes if I use it for too long for most games. I typically turn it on for cutscenes, then turn it off again (it's a slider on the side, so no big deal).

Fortunately, the 3D is really a gimmick. It's fun, but it's not particularly meaningful for the value of the games. It's a really nice addition for the games that do it well (A Link Between Worlds being notable), but otherwise it's really just about the quality of the games.
