Unless you really care about your Steam level, cards are worthless. It amazes me that people are paying for them.
My wallet is at $14.50 right now from card sales, so I'm not complaining.
Lots of Russian and Chinese seems to be purchasing them. People with 400+ game libraries usually.

For now. Later next year they'll probably have it set up like Xbox Live, where the higher your level the bigger discount you get on games.

Shhh Joph doesnt need any bigger discounts. Hes almost 12? I'm 11 but thats because I have an inordinate amount of games from Indie bundles
I just noticed my Steam join date is June 26th. So I think I'll get to level 12 in a few days by doing nothing but waiting.

So I scoop one up, gather all the ammo, kill a bad guy with a machine gun, grab that, steal a car, drive to a clothing shop and rob it stealing both cash and a suit and arrive at my next location fully dressed, armed and with $100 in my pocket rather than half-naked and helpless as intended. All because I got bored a half hour earlier.

I had 11k and they took it. Again.
I ended up punching one dude in the face getting his gun, shooting a couple more. Then cops showed up and they were fighting with the bad guys so I hopped some fences and stole my neighbors car. That was after several underwear deaths where I tried just running and only got to my pool or the bushes before splaying akimbo in inglorious death.
I also completely tricked out a car for a couple grand . Drove it to a mission, parked it outside, and it was gone after the cut scene. No longer in my garage either... I have come to accept the transience of anything I obtain in this game at this point.

$12.50 is 75% off the $49.99 base so that's as cheap as it'd get without a base price drop. No idea when that'll happen (I'm guessing not until after summer sale, or else a drop in MSRP and then a 50% discount).

Steam cards are live and from what I see prices bottomed out (BL2 cards @ 50 cent vs 1 dollar a day ago) They also added a few more games, I have like 3 of them Ones a F2P game (Warframe). Also got as KT put it, "The worst Emoticon ever" which I have to agree, everyone in Beta received it
