Credit costsFollow

It says houses cost a certain amount of creditsd per day, based on size. Is this real life days, every 24 hours whether I play or not.. in game days... in game every 24 hours playing time? How's it work?

Also, how much do vehicles cost? Do they have the same types of maintenance?

House costs are in server up time. Every hour that the server is up, an hour of maint ticks off reguardless of whether your logged in playing or not. When the servers are down, there are no maint fees for houses, harvesters, or vendors.

Vehicles do not have maint cost. They have durability, "hit points", and repair costs. Your vehicle takes damage when you generate it, and for every "tick" that it's out. They also seem to take more damage when you run into buildings, etc. When your vehicle needs to be repaired, you must take it to/ generate it at a garage, and select "repair" from the radial menu. (Garage's are located in the main citys... they look like an open building with a ramp leading to a couple bays.) Vehicles do not take damage when they are stored in your data pad (or when your offline).

If your short on funds and worried about vehicle maintance costs, get a creature mount for your ride instead. For non-ch a carrian spat or kaadu is a good choice. They aren't quite as fast, but they will slowly heal on their own, and only take damage if they get in a fight.

I have to agree with using the mount instead of a vehicle if your worried about maintenance. I am a master artisan so for me its no bother using a vehicle, however, I recently started a new char on another server and began with a speeder bike. The costs to maintain it soon annoyed me to no end so I got myself a Bol and have felt much better off.

I find the critters a lot more fun to ride around on too as you can take pot shots at dark blue cons as your bounding along.

The only problem was, it tooks me DAYS to find someone who had any type of mount for sale still. Mounts are not dead buried by a long shot and I think that demand for them will be back up sooner or later. You can always have both of course.

I think the cost to running a house is way off.
A house that costs 60 credits an hour, by 24 hours = 1,440

Tell me, who pays 1,440 credits a day for a mud bricker on Tatooine? I thought most ppl were poor as such, no wonder they went into slavery. It would have been better than trying to survive on your own.

Now a house costing 1,400 credits a month would be more realistic, even then slightly more than they should be.

Any thoughts?

People that want water in their house. Do you think water is a bit of a premium on Tat? ;-) Then you probably want lights, a climate control unit and an outlet to plug your speeder and droids into.

Tatooine housing is Mexican on the outside and Hi-Tech on the inside! :-)

Besides, money isn't that hard to come by anyway.
