now i think you should controll the time releasing of your spells (let your pet or tank hit the target a little before releasing your spells)

like this
1 let your tank or pet get a good 4 regular hit (normal no spells attacks)
2 then nuke the target
3 then repeat
it works for me

word of wise

I dont know what level you are...but out of the caster class Enchanters seem to be the ones that have the lowest agro...but there are some things that do like to hurt us more than others..and for me it seems to be the undead things...like the undead near darvar loved me..and now the phantoms cant get enough of this elf meat..lol

But most of the time, I hardly draw agro...which is a nice nice thing. Heres just some advice or tips...wait til the tank has made contact with the mob first to establish the agro so he wont have to fight for it...and dont send your pet in til he has taken the first hit...this seems to work best..once he establishes the agro..then you can cast and send your pet in to help...hope that works for you...if you need any help with your enc let me know...I may not know much but maybe just maybe we could trade some secrets..lol Happy hunting!!

5 times in 45 minutes...wow! That's a lot lol. Yesterday I had two different groups at the buccaneer camp and nobody died once. I'm a 36 warrior; the groups i was with were a 37 ran, 34 (dinged to 35) enchanter, and a 35 shammy. Other grp was 35 cleric, 35 magician, and 35 wizzie (all dinged). I lost aggro and had an actual effect on the group maybe 4 times. The ranger got close to dying, as did the mage, but still, nobody died. I know that casters need to time their spells but you, being an enchanter, shouldnt pull aggro at all. Two reasons: you don't do as much damage as a wizzie, and you have a mana regen buff. That mana buff should enable the tank to taunt his brains out and barely ever lose aggro. There's my two cents. And so, I say you either cast WAY too much, orr you need a better tank.

Okay I agree the tank should be able to hold his aggro with the Enchanters mana buff...but let me just say for the record we are not the end all be all of power.

Yes, I do have power flow/tide/wave (the self power path) that I can cast on a group member. These give a regeneration effect of mana over a short period of time. Which is good, but it isnt a life saver if someone decides to burn their spells without caustion. At level 47 I have those three spells. Flow was at level 27/Tide level 33/and Wave was 43. Mind you I am on the self path, but it seems to work out well.

So I can cast all three during a group...which usually for me goes Wave to the person I can tell using it most...healer or tank depending on level and how powerful their spells are(tanks because I have had some taunt their butts off)...and Tide to the next...and flow to the melee and I switch them up each round of cast to accomodate. (Wouldnt it be wonderful if we could see the groups mana bars so we didnt have to blindly guess or wait for OOM?)

Thank god for cms, cause these spells eat our power too...So if someone out there just wants to burn their spells I might be burning mine out just to keep up(which is what I should be doing, but I shouldnt be worried if I can even keep up or if I even will have enough to give at a crucial moment)...So I would just advise to use caution when trying to use every spell in your spell line. I am not being lazy, just trying to make it safe. I have no problems with people wanting to do lots of damage, lets just not keep dying for it.

Also the enchanter in this original post may not be a very high level, therefore, they may not have each of those tide spells. Not only that, if they are lower their mana regen may not be as strong, the tank may still be learning to hold aggro, and they may be undead (like I said most undead dont seem to like any caster, atleast they dont like me..lol) There are just many reason why we take a beating sometimes.

AoE's kill me too...the wizzies in guk may be light blue to me, but their AoE's are a (bleep). I also get struck with AoE's at phantoms, and have had a healer ask me how I got hit?? I didnt. The AoEs are strong and they are more evident on someone without many HP.

We also do some pretty good damage. Not as much as a wizzie or a mage, but we do some good damage when loading on dex. I havent spent too much on dex, and cant recall offhand what it is. But I can chain cast my DoT of 250, my DD's of 350 and 620 (I also have a lower DD but I need room in my spell bar for other things). To me thats 1970 in one cast, while meanwhile power tiding my butt off. Most of the times I am behind the scenes always buffing. So I may not be a great damage dealer but I can do some.
