Twin Peaks video shows the new BG which is simply Warsong v2.0.

One particular thing I noticed was kill times are definitely longer. The damage to health pool ratio is obviously changed, which should put far more priority on 1v1 strategy (especially CCs and interrupts) but also on overall game strats. We're going to have to be far more focused on grouping to optimal benefit (heal/melee/range-control teams at nodes, etc). We can't just zerg-wipe anymore.

Also interesting to see some of the post-level-80 spells being used. Very interesting indeed =)

Cheers!

I really like that layout. Far more than WSG.

If those rocks and stumps really are LOS obstacles, I'll probably have a permanent hard-on for that BG.

Seriously, it looks epicly good.

I wonder how that river is going to end up playing a role in the BG. Thinking of stuff like the glyph of blurred speed here. Is it me or do some classes simply have a huge bonus in flag carrying like this? With the bridge as the main chokepoint, any form of waterwalk (especially that which doesn't cancel on hit) is going to be extremely powerful.

Edit: Hey, he actually spends some time talking about Bloodline Champions. For what it's worth, it has my recommendition as well - if you like arenas, you should check it out. It's basically like WoW arenas, but much more skill based. I've been playing the beta for a bit and already play that game better than I ever did arenas - I quite like it.

For sure, especially if a rogue is getting chased and a hunter can lay a frost trap on the bridge with the Entrapment talent.

I wasn't paying too much attention, but did it show if a mage's blink would carry them across?

I'm thinking that a goblin rocket jump will if you jump before activating it (gaining altitude so you jump further), so goblin rogues will likely have a pretty nice advantage in that respect.

Was thinking that exact thing, goblin flag carriers could just hop the river and gain a lot of distance. That racial is going to be so amazing, not just for opening/closing gaps.

I've been thinking about that for my rogue; I'm already the best PvP race right now, but I really think that goblins will be pretty exceptional with rocket jump.

Just the fact that snares don't effect it is pretty fantastic (similar to hunter's disengage). That plus nitro boosts, sprint, and shadowstep mean that closing the gap will be pretty easy for goblin rogues.

They also have some really cool animations.

I do wonder if the 1% haste will help energy regeneration, though.

Totalbiscuit doesn’t exaggerate...he’s pretty bad at PVP. And yet he thinks he’s going to love the rated battlegrounds, because he can get together with a bunch of people and use strategery to win the day.
I predict a great wailing and gnashing of teeth come Cataclysm. A lot of folks are going to discover that being on vent with a bunch of your buddies won’t cut it against arena-trained premades with battlemasters directing the action. I can’t figure out why everyone thinks they’re going to be awesome at it.

Anyway, on topic about the battleground...I notice a heavy elevation change from one side to the other, which means all kinds of possible games with disengage, etc. and parachutes/slow fall/levitate to sail the flag far across the arena.

Cool to see Leap of Faith used to pull a player’s overextended butt to safety before he got blown up. I’d probably want to save the cooldown for a flag carrier, but it’s good to see that it works as intended.

Speaking of Goblin subtlety rogues... I remember the old Mut-Prep build to be a bit of a chess game against frost mages - you basically had the same amount of combat engagers/disengagers and whoever popped his stuff at the right time ended up in the beneficial position at the end and killed his opponent. As Subt, I found frost mages fairly easy - there was still some chess involved, but I had to ***** up a huge load of things to actually lose to them. Imagine now a subtlety rogue with yet another gap closer. I wonder if there's really any class that's going to be able to kite those.

I would hesitate to call them "easy". Maybe bad frost mages, but good frost mages?

I agree, I have a pretty easy time against bad frost mages, but good ones still give me problems.

With a goblin though, I feel like it'll be that much easier.
