New Arena page and pvp stuff releasedFollow

Arena page

Well another official page:D

-have to say I am pretty impressed about the "team system"
3types of teams 2v2 3v3 5v5
you can join 1 of each
much more interesting than the guild...

-"warmup system" also seems fair...

-lol formula
Team Rating Arena Point Formulae

X = Team Rating, Y = Arena Points

If X>1500: Y = 2894/(1+259*e^(-0.0025*X))
Else: Y = 0.206*X+99

-titles for best pvpers.. well I wont get there ever I think:))...
unless i make my own server:)))

-now something that gave me a heart attack:

One very cool aspect of the Arena System is the introduction of seasons. Each season lasts several months, and at the end of a season, the top ranked teams are rewarded with some truly unique prizes like legendary mounts or other cool items

P.S. maybe I might quit pve rofl

Yeah thats neato.

Also, they already said somewhere that every person on the 1st team every season, gets Epic Flying Mount. Talk about motivation. :D

Even though, I'm probably not gonna make it there, but damn am I gonna try hard!

Also helpful that I've found person ingame who wants to do pvp-duo and go pwn some allies :<

I wonder if they make different prizes for the 3 types.. I mean for the first 10 or so... that would mean that you should "specialize" on 1 type... to be discussed...

Also getting a good team and sticking with it and also doing pve is kinda hard with the new systeam.. I mean you cant do them both good...

OH... there is 1 thing I hate.. I think.. You gain arena points if only if you join at least 30% of the fights in that week.. kinda sucks alot.. I hope they change it.. though.. it might not

Imo its a good thing, keeps the list where they calculate how much points you got, fairly small, if compared to something like, if peeps did teams and only did 2 games per week.

Kinda hard to explain, at least in my current state of tiredness, but I hope you understood.

Legendary mounts....that says it all.

Looks like you need to be geared for this though.

It says you must be level 70 to do the arena, I thought it was coming out this patch though.

ah yea.. the 70's caps... that seems fair... coz you can do the arena before.. only you dont get points... you just "train"

about the 30% limit.. well I think the 10 games should be enough.. or make it 20...that means about 3 a day

P.S. now that I am thinking.. we are gonna have 4 tabards:))) 1 pve guild and 3 for pvp teams n.n

Actually, its 70% attention required. So 1 match per day. Shouldn't be too troubling IMO.

70 to do *rated* arena (i.e. to earn points towards the arena awards). You will be able to do the arena prior to that but will be unable to create rated teams or earn arena points; it will purely be for fun :)

And the 30% requirement is to keep people from exploiting the system. They want to make sure that if you are getting credit for your team's rating, that you actually contributed. So if they play 10 games a week, you only need to play in 3. But if they're playing 100 per week, you better be in there for 30 of them else you won't get any credit. Also prevents people from selling alt spots on their rosters for people to leech rewards without ever playing.

Everything I read I liked..

One thing I was wondering though. How useful do you think those stones (forgot what they're called) that enables you to see stealthed people after 5 min of play but takes 15% health. I personally don't see an arena match lasting more then 3 minutes.

They are there just to prevent stealthed players from griefing their opponents. A smart rogue, especially in a 1v1 situation, could simply hide in stealth forever... either waiting for cooldowns or simply causing his opponent to /afk out in frustration. The buff isn't supposed to be used for normal length fights.

Once TBC comes out, the fights are supposed to take longer in PvP.
