AV, from Blizz's own mouth:Follow

Interesting.
To those who say that the AV bases are even:

versus

Add this to the jump over the Horde wall "trick" I hesitate to say trick because it's so obvious, is it any wonder that AV is one of the only BGs where Alliance wins consistently?

uhm, I cannot see what you are trying to point out, the window popping up shows the toplist of most dangerous creatures and no data :S (maybe it's from navigating with a mac ? :P)

P.D: ouch, messed up confused AB with AV, whatever, edited

Actually Drek'thar gets the most kills because the Alliance wipe on him more. When we finally get a brain and get defense it's wipe city for the Alliance.

Yeah, I can believe that. Drek kills more because the alliance are able to get to Drek way before the horde is able to get to Stormpike. When you have games where horde don't even get in the same room as Stormpike, sure Drek will have more kills.

Exactly. So many more Alliance get to Drek than Horde get to the Stormpike general precisely because their defenses are so much deadlier and more effective than ours.

Not necessarily, 95% of the time we have no defense to start and if we have that defense we don't use the bottleneck at our base.

the only time that I have been successful at AV was when I was with my premade and we completely zerged (no defense at drek) and would win in 15 minutes. That of course was because we had a talented group that worked together and would single pull Van. If we didn't do that going through each marshal would be a pain in the ***.

When I got exalted on my Alliance character, we won about 2/3 of the time.

I just got exalted (in less than a week start to finish) on my horde character and we won about 1/3 of the time.

Personally I think the horde position is superior to the alliance in every respect except one, and that is the one that makes all the difference. What is the crucial problem?

The east and west frostwolf towers can be approached from relative safety coming into the base. The north and south stormpike towers have to be approached in the open across a bridge and clear terrain. The tower archers have a clear field of fire on the horde and cause a lot of trouble.

It takes a more concerted effort to advance on the alliance base across the bridge and it shifts the balance slightly in favor of the alliance. Not alot of difference, but all you have to do is beat Drek a few seconds ahead of Van and the alliance gets a win and the horde gets a loss.

Yeah, that list is a laugh. Defias Pillager is ranked higher than Onyxia. It represents what mobs people die to most often, which is more of a rank of what is fought than what is dangerous. Drek ranks high because the alliance fights him alot. Van doesn't because the horde don't fight him a lot.
