Completely off topic...

I always knew the definition of patronize to be: "To treat in a condescending manner."

I never realized until today that it's also:

1. To act as a patron to; support or sponsor.
2. To go to as a customer, especially on a regular basis.

Kinda strange for one word to have such opposite meanings.

I quit the video as soon as I heard "potentially dangerous to children". Seriously, paranoid much? News networks will jump on anything.

EDIT:

Also, I picked up GHII a couple of days after it was released, and beat it on Expert a few days later. Safe to say that it's going to take me forever to 5-star everything, and there a couple of bonus songs that are nigh-impossible. For some reason the game comes pretty naturally to me, so I don't have much trouble passing songs in the first place. I have issues in the "keep your combo going forever" category.

XD, but... ACTUAL leet speak... the letters are replaced with numbers/symbols that LOOK like the letter, so when you look at a sentence or phrase in Leet speak... I mean, even a monkey could understand what it says, and there's that parent with her little, Leet Speak code breaker... god, just loot at the words and use your goddamn brain. Reporters these days I tell ya....

Took them long enough to understand it.

LoL how hard is it to understand when p30pl3 s\/\/i7c|-| t0 13375p34|<?

I'm surprised people still use Leetspeak and think it's cool.

IMO 1337speak is more of a joke now.

Now that the parents have gotten ahold of it it's definately not cool.

No its a dangerous subversive web culture. Just writing in it is an act of the devil. They need to get those anti-smoking people to work before its too late.

This is probably the saddest thing I have heard of yet from the paranoid news media.

The only thing that I can see 1337 doing to harm real world society is causing poor grammar and spelling.

I love the mom who was kind of embarrassed to say you have to try to keep up [with the kids]. It was like she was trying to say that it was something cool, but she's never been comfortable with "cool".

Poor thing.

Methinks we might already be too late.

No fear though, does everyone still have their witchburning torches?

So several little stringes of thought:

1. Don't link to ebaumsworld if it can be avoided please. They steal all their videos from other sites and not only deny them credit but also claim ownership. They're the goldsellers of the **** and giggles internet video world.

2. That parent child relationship creeped me out. Being close to your parents and having a good relationship means being able to discuss anyhting you want to with them, it means having bonds of trust, it means that they understand they are there to guide you, not be watchbirds. It means it is totally scry how that kid seemed fine with his mom reading through his aim conversation.

3. Yes leetspeak is old, you don't have to say it. Ripples pass through society, one raddi of the ring has already been hit, the others are jsut being hit. so the aim kiddies have probably gotten leetspeak maybe 2 years ago (mass diffusion, not small secitons) and maybe it's almost old to them now?

I've been playing guitar hero 2 a bit. Almost have it beaten on expert, but im snagged on the second to last stage. Im just not good enough for that yet.

Wait, the tier with Psychobilly Freakout? That's the first song I failed in my straight run to the finish. I only failed it once, of course. The encore song is insanely easy, so don't sweat it once you beat Psychobilly Freakout. I four-starred the encore the first run through.

The only thing I can say for Psychobilly Freakout, and Institutionalized(on the next tier) is save your star power for critical moments. Once you've beaten the game, you won't need it anymore, but just abuse it to get through. Besides Misirlou and Institutionalized, the next tier is nothing scary. The encore is also easy, but I don't like to spoil encores.
