pvp flag (yet another noob question)Follow

hallo, I was wondering...
what is the /pvp switch for? I play in a PvP server, burning legion.
I was in ratchet (just completed my felhunter quest, but this is another - sad - story), and for some unknown reason (I'm definitely a nooob) I tried the /pvp switch and I received a message stating that I was flagged for pvp. needless to say, one second after there was a ??-lvl tauren after me that /laughed at me and killed me in a second. now I wonder... when I am peacefully traveling in a contested territory, or in the horde territory, they attack me on sight anyway, so what is the need of a /pvp switch in a pvp server? the only difference with the rest of my deaths is that this time the tauren /laughed at me, not much indeed
thanks

Maybe he's not a puss so he wants to play on a real server. So go back to your pansy PvE server and leave the guy alone.

Anyway, there are times when it is fun. At one point I was in SM and there was a priest that was MCing people to talk to them, so I turned my pvp flag on so she could MC me. That's about the only time I've used it lol

As far as OP goes though...if you are alliance and you were in Ratchet then you were already flagged for PVP as that is Horde territory.

the point is that I know that I can be killed when I am in ratchet and I am used to it, too. I was only wondering what the pvp flag was for in a pvp server, since I can, and will, be attacked anyway.

To keep yourself flagged at all times. When I enter Ironforge or other alliance territories I do not unflag.
