Auction House questions...Follow

#1 Nov 28 2006 at 5:48 PM Rating: Decent
Im new to WoW, and have some questions.

I am trying to use the auction house. I just downloaded auctioneer.

The first question is if you exit the game, do you loose your auctions, or the items that you are auctioning. I had set some auctions up for 8 hours, and left the game for the night and when I returned the next day there doesnt seem to be any record of my auctions, or of my items.

Second, if someone buys your items in an auction, how do you get paid? Does it automatically go to your bank?

When you are setting a price for your items, are you setting the price per item or per stack? In other words if you have a stack of 20, and you set the price at 1 silver, is that 1 silver per stack or 1 silver per item, so for the whole stack it would be 20 silver?

If you want to buy something in the auction, can you choose to buy less than the whole stack?

Is there a guide or tutorial to using the auction house? I have seen some things about how to make money, but not specifically how to use the auction house features.

Thanks

Don't worry about leaving the game with an auction running. If it ends whil you are off the money that some one bid on it or the item if no one bid will be mailed to you.

The money is mailed to you. there are mailboxes outside most inns or you can ask a guard where to find one. There will be a envelope icon beneath the sun/moon icon by your mini-map. This is also where you get the items you buy of the AH

When youset the price you set it for the whole stack. You can break items into smaler stacks by shift clicking them and moving the smaller stack to another slot in your inventory.

When you bid, you are bidding on the whole stack. You have to get the whole stack. You can always resell the extra or buy multiple smaller stacks.

To answer your first question, if you exit the game while you are auctioning an item you do not lose it. The reason you couldnt find it was because when no one buys your item which you are auctioning, it gets mailed back to you. If somone were to buy that item then the money would be mailed to you aswell. If you are wondering where a mailbox is, they are in most towns/outposts and if you have trouble finding one, ask somone in the game.
As for your last question for example you put a stack of 20 linen in the AH (auction house) and set it for 20 silver, the whole stack is selling for 20 silver. Also you cannot but just one piece from a stack, you must buy all of which is being auctioned.

no, you don't have to be online to win an auction. the item will be mailed to you. if you are the seller, then the purchase price and your deposit will be mailed to you (minus the auction house's cut). if you auction something that doesn't sell you lose the deposit, but the item will be mailed back to you.

The price is per stack. If someone is auctioning off a stack of 20 whatevers, you have to bid on all 20.

it's all pretty simple once you've sold a few things. since you've obviously never used the AH before, I think Auctioneer might be making it seem more complicated than it is.
