Patch Downloader Question...Follow

#27 Dec 05 2006 at 4:04 AM Rating: Default
Tomec please dont talk about things you have no clue about. the blizzard downloader was MADE to download slow. if you read the FAQ about it you would have known that. Bittorrent is the best protocol for uploading files to multiple users, your whole "walking threw an alley way" analogy is just plain wrong. im sorry if your ISP sucks, but uploading should have no effect on your download speed, if anything the faster you upload to other Bittorrent users the faster you should be able to download.

The downloader seems to have improved with this last patch. I went ahead signed on this morning and it downloaded the last 10mb patch update file, and it applied the whole thing after downloading the last piece. 500Mb patch in a couple minutes... but only because of the background downloading that took place earlier. I can't wait to get home from work and for the servers to come up (reflective shield ftw).

If this is any indication of how the rest of my day is going to go, then I'm sure I'll be drowning in the stupid by noon. Hurray for the full moon. Whackotastic.

You, sir, are an idiot. Has anyone mentioned that to you recently? Other than me, of course. Because it seems like the sort of thing you might hear all the time.

Yes, I'm a bit grumpy today. Next to no sleep and no coffee will do that.

An internet connection, unless you have dedicated lines for upload and download, generally only allows you so much bandwidth up or down stream. This is especially true of broadband hardwire connections (cable, DSL, T-connections, ect.) which had less limitations on upload capabilities. If you have a total averaged bandwith of 250 kbs, if I'm uploading at 200 kbs then I can only logically download 50 kbs because that's all the bandwidth I have left.

You might want to check your facts before telling someone they have no clue of what they speak. I'm going to stop now before I say something unkind.
