First of all what level is the character you need gold for?

Ok, well I'm only lvl 25 and my bf is 35 so I'm not entirely sure.
But have you been to all the instances around your level or lower than your level out of the instances me and my bf have been to, VC, WC, SM Lib and Arm, SFK, BFD, ST and Gnomer. I would say that SM Lib had quite good drops, last time we went the second boss dropped two green items and one blue item. You could probably handle SM Lib by yourself or with one other person, especially if you agro a whole lot at once.

Have you tried SM, RFD, Ulda or ZF? They are the instances around your level and I'm not sure about the drops but you should be able to make a bit of cash.

See the problem here is that the pally is very very slow at killing mobs. you need to find some green ones and just kill them. Green ones always go down faster.

I found I was always short of gold until i set about some time each day to do nothing but kill mobs. Just find a place thats a few levels below you and kill the humanoids there. Maybe and hour a day and you should have enough coming in to keep up with the everyday costs of the game.

kill the pirates on the coast in tanaris. they drop cash, vendor trash and cloth. sell the cloth on the ah. done.
there are also one or two chest spawn points in the pirate camp, so this might get you some extra loot.
