I've heard a lot about "AQ" and how hard it is and all, but what is it? Where can I get it? I'm an assassin 21 in need of a little info!
AQ stands for Armor Quest. It is a series of quests you can start at level 20 and obtain a piece for almost every slot. It will take lots of adventuring to get them all, and you may gain several levels before finishing it all. Many parts will require you to have a group.
Talk to Dyric Pire in East Freeport to begin your series of quests. He is, by the way, the AQ NPC for medium and heavy armor users.
For other choices in armor, visit your local Broker to find many items for sale that are either loot drops or player-made.

AQ stands for Armor Quest. Or more accurately, Armor Quest(s) since you can end up with six different pieces of armor, one for each of six different stages in the quest.
Since Tutan already covered the FP side of things...
If you were a Qeynos scout, you would want a series of quests called "Ian's Forgetful Family". Ian will send you out to kill a variety of different mobs and at the completeion of each stage, he will reward you with a different piece of armor that should last you till you leave tier 3 at level 30.
You can read up on filling all of Ian's needs HERE -or- you could look on the left hand side of this page and search quests --> list by zone.
Ian can be found in Qeynos Harbor.
