woodcraft skill not moving up

I'm currently stuck at 53/147 and no matter what I make the skill will not go up. Any ideas?

Are you spamming your counters/buffs? Don't just wait for the icon to appear and counter it, keep pressing those buttons during the entire process and you should see your skill-ups.

Are you capped at level 19 and need to pick a level 20 profession?

It sounds like your still using your tier 1 buttons. I noticed I got very few skill updates in anything till I got into the tier 2 skills.

If you use lower tier TS spells than your highest, you seem to skill up slower. Like the others said, after every change to the progress bar, hit 2 of the 3 buttons every time, this will help.
