I can't find the grate I am supposed to find so that I can go kill vermin in the sewers (as I was instructed by the landlord). It feels like I've been looking all over town, Nobody seemed willing to even answer me ingame either.
I really really really need the help.
also, I'm level 6 Dark Elf Scout ATM (In case the quest is built around your archetype or something?)

eeeh, nevermind, I thought this was the citizenship-quest, after looking through the quests I see that so was not the case.

While you are in a city, you can get waypoints by pressing ALT+W. It will give you the familiar glowing trail to where you need. Not all points or NPC's are on that list, though.
The new patch will provide better directions from the guards. Now, instead of needing to know the name, you can type in the profession. For example, you can type "mender" to get a waypoint to the mender in town.
Make sure you have downloaded and installed the free EQ2Maps. It will place hundreds of points of interest on your maps, and even provide maps for zones that have none!
It is considered a must-have for game play.
