Yes, you will need the original game in order to use the expansion or the adventure packs. You can find a copy of the original game at EBGames for $19.99 here - http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/243364.asp

It can also be purchased through newegg for $29.99 here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832135111

and frys has it for $19.99 here - http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4230544?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

You can even get it at Amazon in either the basic version for $19.99 here - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00028YSD0/qid=1133111395/sr=8-3/ref=pd_bbs_3/002-4890773-5469623?v=glance&s=videogames&n=507846

or the deluxe collectors version for $44.99 here - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002CKASI/002-4890773-5469623?v=glance&s=videogames&n=507846

You could probably also have found it listed at a host of other companies as well... if you had bothered to look...

Hello there , I managed to download the game using Direct2drive , I think it's part of IGN and Fileplanet , I used a free login didn't need to pay for the actual service only the game itself.
hope this helps and it's the info you were looking for , it was a three hour download on 4mb cable =)

The game is pretty much for sale anywhere that sells computer games, I can't imagine anybody having a hard time finding it? I know its easy to find at about any local store as well. You might find it really cheap on Ebay, just make sure its not some num nutz trying to sell a used copy.

The Best Buy that I went to in order to get EQ2 for my partner had only one CD copy available (but three DVD copies). Many of the larger chains are starting to discontinue carrying EQ2, simply because it doesn't sell anywhere near as fast as WoW or newer games.

Fortunately, there's always the Sony Station Store (which is where we got my copy) or Amazon.
