How many people play EQII?

I played ffxi for a while, and i play wow now (not very much like 1-2 hours a week).
I do NOT want this to be a discussion how which is better, I can see from my 2 seconds in this forum that there are enough of those threads.
I tried EQII roughly a year ago, and I got drawn away form it to WoW.

My question:
How many people play EQII still? Is it still growing or is the pop shrinking? When I quit EQII it seemed like alot of people were leaving it even though it just came out a few months ago.

There is some guy who publishes a listing of how many subscribers each game has and based on his research, I think we currently number about 220,000. Even if this number is off, I don't believe that participation in the game is shrinking. I still see plenty of people in-zone no matter what time of day or night I log in.

Even when it's late at night, I am often contested for the mobs and nodes I am interested in. Even in zones as large and spread out as Enchanted Lands (tier 4), and definately in Thundering Steppes, (tier 3) there are always people about.
