Friend AccessFollow

After spending Friday getting my system back up (no, didn't have anything backed up anywhere) I got to spend Saturday in Nektulos. When I finally went back to my apartment in QH (2-rooms) I had a bg problem. When I zoned into my room I was stuck in a couple of tables, bookcases, and pumkins. I don't know how it had happend but somehow my apartment access to the public had gotten changed to Friend rather then visitor.

Someone entered my rooms under the guise of a friend and moved everything. The reason I have a 2-rom apartment is because I ran out of room in my 1-room apartment. They moved everything. It took me hours to rebuild the fireplace and relocate everything. The big problem is that I have a few missing items. I know that a friend should not be able to put things in their bags so I am guessing that the missing items are glitched in a wall somewhere. The only way I could possibly find them would be to do a gather items. That would take me a very long time to do because I don't have enough room in bags and would have to run everything to the bank and then re-gather.

Does anyone have any suggestions for finding the missing items? The items that I know of for sure are a chair (1-of a set of 4), a rug (1-of a set of 2), 2-paingings, and my bow that hung on the wall. Help???

I would suggest that everyone check their visitor access and make sure they have public access set to visitor or none, but never friend.

That really sucks big time! Whenever I hear something like this it bums me out and to hear that it happened to someone I think is a nice person is even worse.

If you do have to resort to a collect all to fish your missing items out of the wall, you might want to leave 2 empty sandelwood boxes in the room vault. That way you can move the first 56 items into the 2 boxes and then continue with whatever big bags you have.

I feel bad for you, Zoo... sorry that it happened to.

Good news. I decided to go and take a long look and search very any type of glitching in the ceilings or corners. I discoverd in the dark corner in the stone room a glitch to turned out to be my trophy bow. I discovered another such glitch outside the stone room. This turned out to be the halbred trophy. I am now only missing the chair, a rug, and at least 1-painting.

I did go out and buy a sandlawood box. It's my first. It really is a big box and the price was not too awful. I can live with the things that are still missing and have allready replaced all but the rug. When and if I ever move I hope to find the other missing items. For now it's just too much work.

Oh, I decided that since someone was really nasty I should do something to balance all that bad karma. So I checked out the Inn rooms in Willow Wood. I found three who had visitor access and checked out their rooms. They had books but no bookshelves. So I made up three and mailed them out to the them. The only thing I entered in the mail was Furniture Fairy in the subject line. Now I feel better.

One question: Could you explain what you mean by, "rebuild the fireplace?" Sounds like something interesting, that might have a tale to go along with it.

I've only "Friend-Remodeled" a stranger's house once, and I didn't do anything malicious... just moved some things around, made some arrangements of similar items, and generally opened up the walking area by putting large items (crafting benches, especially) into corners. I haven't gone back to see if they've put everything back, or if someone else came along and screwed it all up... I think I really don't want to know. =^_^=
