EQ1 Paladins and EQ2 PaladinsFollow

Is the Play a lot different? (other than the combat arts. I kinda figure that they would make the actual PLAY a lot different) Do paladins play Roughly the same roles in Groups and Solo that they did in the original game? if not how are they different, if they do. ummmmm SWEET!

I guess this could go for really any class that was once just a stand in the front and turn on the auto attack Type of Character in the old world.

OK,I played a Crusader up to level 18 and it seemed to be a little different from EQ1's Paladins (i had a lvl 40 one) with thier procs against anything unlike the undead only procs and their new buffs it seemed like I was doing better (of course cuz of the different damage/ratio) but id say they are not that different from eq1 pallys (WOOT a cool white steed at lvl 20 :))

Eq is not EQ2 so no they are not the same. Pally can solo in EQ2 up to 60L you can't do that in EQ.

There main job is to tank as is all the warrior types ( I have a 50 SK) Some do better then others. To be the main tank you need a warrior type with someone who knows how to be the MT. You will also need the best gear you can get ( I would say afford but if you can't afford it in game then you won't be tanking to much)

At the lower levels its easy to tank but on raids you really have to be able to play your char well to be MT.

So over all I would say no they are no where the same as in EQ non of the class's are even close to what they where in EQ.

BTW there is no beastlord :)

I know the game its self isnt going to be the same. I'm not expecting that in the slightest, What I was asking though Tomii, is "do Paladins play the same Role they did in EQ that they do in EQ2?" I can understand by what Gelthidor said that they will play roughly the same role that the did back in the old game and even a bit by what you said. And BTW I soloed plenty of things all the way up to 54 as my paladin in EQ It might have taken longer or not been as good of EXP as grouping would have been but it wasnt impossible. I understand that it will be easyer for any class to solo in EQ2 than it was in EQ1 but it was never impossible for any class to solo in EQ1.

EQ2 paladins are good tanks just like in EQ1 (like i said) but cuz of the combate revamp you could still solo well but it would be a little harder, expecially sense paladins are tanks meaning low to medium damage out-put...I tested out the damage between a crusader and a warrior and the crsader came out on top but they do get the procs while warriors just get the DoT attacks

How bout the stuns? I played an *** kickin lev 70 pally in eq1 with 5 stuns blazing away at all times. Do they give us stuns in eq2 or do we use something else to hold aggro? Do we get heals? pally only buffs? and of course the king of them all, the ungodly HOLY STEED?
