Newbie Question on Guilds/ServersFollow

#1 Oct 05 2005 at 3:04 PM Rating: Decent
I am going to be starting my EQ2 adventure this weekend and I have a few questions. I am a MMOORPG player, so I know the basics of a mass communication sysyem, but how does it work in EQ2? I assume someone has to invite you and you have to kinda "prove" yourself in the guild to become respected. I was wondering if there are social type guilds that don't require you to be on ALL the time? I don't have the time to promise I will be at certain events or help people at certain times. However, I do like to help people and I like to chat up a storm, so I want to belong to some sort of guild. My next question is about servers. I know everyone likes the one they are on, but a few questions. Are any of the server's economies messed up? Are any of them over/under populated? Are any of them more social then others? Are some just 'role playing' servers?
Any help???? =)

I will answer your server question first. It seems Najena, Lucan DLere and Antonia Bayle are quite populous. That is not to say the other servers are empty, just that these are the servers that seem to have the most people. Any server, though, is a good choice.

Antonia Bayle and Lucan DLere are the Role Playing servers. However, you do not have to RP if you don't want to. No one is going to get upset. You can do as much or as little as you want.

As far as guilds: only you can answer that question. You will find all types of guilds on all of the servers. You will have your heavy-gamer guild, your average-gamer guild and your casual weekend-warrior guild. You are the one who has to do the research. This is a good jumping off point for your research.

Hope this helps and, most importantly, have fun! Welcome to EQ2!

Thanks =) =)

Your answer about the servers really helped. I wanted to be on one with peeps. The link really helped too. Now I have something to go off. You know of any other good general information sites for EQ2 info?

mearyk covered most of the bases on the last post. I'll stick up for Mistmoore as having a good population, and my guild, Slege, is a social guild. We're not far from L30, but there are no stringent log-in requirements or any of that crap, just peeps who have fun playing EQ2.

Oh, me and my shameless plugging of Mistmoore...

Your not the only peep who has said to go to Mistmoore =) I am thinking I might be logging into that one. If you don't mind I might look you up when I am ready to join a guild =)

Nektulos is a great server, with good population at all levels and a good economy. Send me a tell if you join and I'll make you a free weapon. I'm in a small but friendly guild looking for members, too.
