Furniture/Room item questsFollow

#1 Oct 05 2005 at 10:54 AM Rating: Decent
Figured this could use another thread instead of burying it on my room question one.

I have looked at the prices of Furniture and dam it's exspensive! Smiley: yikes

So if anyone knows of any Quests or places where room items/Furniture may drop could you post them here?

Any are appreciated....
(I have a 2 room apt with a Table and a selling board!) Smiley: oyvey

Here is a list I found. This should at least give you a jumping off point. For the most part, though, furniture is player crafted.

Question: Are you talking about the prices on the broker or from the city merchants?

I was refering to the NPC merchants prices.
Will have to look in the Broker.

You should get some better deals on the broker. NPC merchants like to rip you off.

Geesh! When I am working on uping my tradeskill I practically give away furniture. Wait, I do. The low end mass produced stuff I make just doesn't seem to sell so I gave up even trying. The bedside tables have been the nicest looking pieces so far. Maybe I should try again?

When I use other folk's Inn rooms to get my sales update I see a lot of empty rooms. Maybe I should start mailing them some furniture. I could be the secret furniture fairy. I think I will do that. It might be a lot of fun. LOL

Hehe good idea only wont be that secret as you they will have your name from the mailing list. :D

Also for other stuff for your house most if not all HQs give you a mountable item that can be put in your house when you are done with it. You can also always do books.

An idea i had, a friend of mine showed me today the merchant you can use to get furniture from your guild status points. might just be me, but seemed to find a better selection there. not sure if thats maybe based on the guilds rank or not.

They took most of the furniture off the NPC's a few months after launch to give carpenters more of a market.

City merchants have a little more furniture, actually the items tend to be decorative knick-knacks. Beds, tables, chairs, etc. pretty much have to be bought from player crafters. What you can get from City Merchants is indeed dependent on guild level.

I have seen some people actually have a fire in their fireplace.
I tried looking around but no luck...anyone know how they do that?

For the fireplace you put a sconce or two down on the wall as far as you can. You then place whatever it is you intend to put in front of it, table, counter, bookcase, Oggokian rocks, etc. I have seen a lot of people use the wine rack to give it that fire grate look. I did see reacently in someon's room picks where they used those Kaladim wall chains. I thought that was a very unique effect. When you come right down to it making a fireplace is more like making magic with smoke and mirrors. It's all an illusion on what you see.

In one Inn I used three scones with a Freeport counter in front of them. Then I used 2 ash bookcases to the sides of the scones and on top of the counter. I put a wine rack in front of the scones. I put a table on top of the counter with three more shelves on top of the table. The shelves were all turned so that you only saw the back sides.

I haven't gotten far with my other Inn room yet. For that I used the counter, scones, table, and placed an Oggokian chair on top of the table.

I was looking at screenshots of fireplaces yesterday and now I can't find them to link to you. Maybe I will come across them later.

I think I found the link I was looking for. There seems to be some trouble with it. If you have a problem follow the suggestions on the top of the screen.
