Moving from FFXI to EQII. Comments/help??????Follow

#1 Oct 03 2005 at 3:30 PM Rating: Decent
I think it is time for a new game. I have been playing FFXI for 3 years now and I am burned out. Don't get me wrong, I loved playing the game, just think its time for a change. I also have a new job that demands more time. I need something that I can play solo when I get home for a few hours. I know I could go back to normal PS2/PC games, but I really like MMORPGS. Has anyone else come from FFXI? Can I do more in EQ2 as a solo type player? I know with any MMORPG I will have to group, but thats what weekends are for. Any info, comments, help, insight would be great.

There is some content that is heroic, or group designed, but most of the game can be soloed including some heroic stuff. So far of my 42 lvls of playing my bard, not a single ding while grouped, and very seldom does he group.

I came from FFXI. EQ2 is a very different game.

You can solo in EQ2. You can choose to grind solo if you wish or you can xp by questing (or a combination of the two).

FFXI gave me my fill of grinding for xp and spending hours trying to put together a group; I choose to play EQ2 solo most of the time. I will group up for a heritage quest when I have to, but most of the time I quest for xp. I have a level 41 paladin, a level 35 bruiser and a level 26 dirge, all done on my own schedule, through questing.

That said, there are many different ways to play EQ2; I have found that you certainly don't need the timesink the way you did in FFXI.

Hope that helps! Smiley: smile

Thank you all. I am really looking foward to playing now. If anyone else has any suggestions about what it is going to be like moving from FFXI to EQ2 I welcome any help. It looks like I am going to be able to log in tonight and start my adventure. Now all I have to do is decide what I want to play....so off to the race/class forums. =)
