EQ and ChattingFollow

I seriously doubt it, but is there any way for someone logged onto EQ2 to chat--through EQ--with third-party chat programs, such as AIM or ICQ?

If not, are there any third party programs (along the lines of the original EQIM) that allow this?

If not, is there anyone who has attempted to play EQ2 while chatting with people through AIM or whatever, and, if so, is there a viable way to do it?

Yes you can, it is just a matter of having both programs up in window mode.

You cannot use AIM for in-game chat, meaning it will not appear in the EQ2 chat windows.

You'll need to just start EQ2, start your favorite chat program, and go for it.

Xfire is a nice little program for this. Unfortunately, it only works if the other people you wish to chat with also have xfire installed...

However, it allows you, and them, to check and see if your friends are online, and even tells you which game they are playing.

You can log in to your EQ2 guild chat using a Jabber client. Here is a page explaining how this is done with Trillian. It would be similar with other Jabber clients.

I haven't actually tried this myself but I do have an official document from SOE explaining the process if anyone wants me to email it to them. I downloaded it from eq2players.com one time and now I cant find it anymore.

You can also chat thru your Sony guild web page. It will allow you to chat with guild members online with out you being on line.
