Ranged weaponsFollow

I hate to repost this but, it's really pissing me off. I want to know why i can't find any ranged weapons i can use for my mage. I know that they are not need because the mage IS a ranged weapon but i like having the option to throw something. I found that in the instruction manuel it says the mages can use "slings,..,thrown weapons". I have checked just about every bandolier in the game it seems. They say that priest, warrior and scouts can use them. Where do i find a sling and the ammo for it? Are these thrown weapons the same as the sling and the ammo? And once again where can i find them? Well thanks for any help and i'm sure i'll have some good thoughts on this subject.^^
