Fellow forum-mates, we have reached a time of crisis, a time of great need, and there is no relief in sight. No longer may we sit by and complain about the problems without providing solutions. We must stand up, shake an angry fist and shout, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!"

On the main page of Alla are the periodic updates to quests and items that they post. I decided to follow a few of these links to see the good info. I mean, if there's an update posted they must have got ahold of some quality info, right?

Well, I clicked on the link to one quest. It said, "Kill [this npc] to start this quest."

That was it.

I clicked on a familiar city writ I've done many times. Wrong mob to kill. In denial, I clicked on yet another familiar quest...empty.

So I ask all of you, please provide this site with whatever information you have or know about quests and items. The easiest way to start is on the front page where the updates are posted.

You can also click on the link on the left side that says, "New Comments" and follow those comments providing updates.

So I call upon you, in this wretchedness, in this time of suffering, in this darkened hour, will...you...Fight?!

How do you submit information? Are screenshots needed? Or is it sufficient to just give text?

I've never done it before, but I would like to help out, this site has given me plenty of help in other games.

Ok, thanks for the info! I'll try and update as many quests as I can find.

Thanks for answering the call! :)

Since it takes forever for the slim EQ2 Alla staff to update the info, it's best just to provide input via the comments box making immediately available. Seems what they are doing is putting up place-holders so others can add comments.

Use a title like "Updated Info", "Correct Info", or "Complete Walkthrough". This will key people in to the good info.

Please include as much information as possible like NPC name, coordinates, sub-quests involved, step-by-step instructions, etc. It's best to research before submitting. Nothing worse than finding an update that says something like, "um...yea...like, I killed this guy last night, so it's doable."

Who else will rise to the challenge?!

Do you have to be a premium member to submit stuff? I'm sure I could help out, but I don't really use Alla enough to bother with a premium membership. I guess I can still add comments, and I'll make sure to do that, as Alla is in dire need of some updated information.

Good point, but not at all. It's like adding comments to a forum, you just have to be registered.

When you open a quest or item, it will have a comment box at the bottom for you to add your info. When you submit, it will instantly appear below the original data as a form of running comments.

If you want an alla mod to update the quest you need to send them an PM, this is the best thing to do if their is no quest listed. Yurlen seems to be the one that updates the most so she would be the best to PM quest info.

If there is a quest listing and you want to post a correction then do what Tuten said and use the post box at the bottom of the quest, it is quicker and gives an immediate answer insteed of waiting for some one to do it. After doing this then you can PM a mod with your correction.

I have also found the same problem with the quests info. I will try and see what I can submit this weekend, or next weekend depending on how much time I have.

This is not going to be easy after all :). Once a quest is finished, there is little to no information in the quest journal. Anyone know of a mod to alter that?

I do have a lower lvl character too, he's just about ready to start questing in Antonica and check on the quests that aren't completed.

As for Voran, I can check on quests I currently have and see if those are still empty. Slow work but steady I guess.

True, unless you cut and psate info as you are progressing, it is nearly impossible to get every detail. But most of the time, all folks need is the starting NPC and location, location of where to go and what to do, and any insights along the way.

If all else fails, you may as well cut-and-paste from other reputable sites that have validated information. If you would like to give credit to a site or a poster, that's a good way to do it also, like my writ thread that I shamelessly cut-and-pasted from elsewhere. :)

Who else will rise?! :)

Lately, I have started taking lots of screen shots while in game.

Learn something important mid-quest? Open your journal and grab a shot. Loot an interesting item, examine and grab a screenie.

I am trying to organize and cull these as I go and will soon begin submitting them for inclusion in the data base here.

Much better than a monitor screen overgrown with post-it notes and far more reliable than my cob-web filled memory!

One final question about submitting information: does it have to include screenshots? Granted, that would most likely make it easier for the admin to confirm that the information is correct, but I got several quests written down and forgot to take screenshots of the quest journal.

screenies are not a requirement... just a bonus for the poor over worked admins!

Well I will start with the Heritage Quest that I am working on. First. It is not listed at all so I think I will have to email it to them. In the mean time I think I will try and make a guide of it but Im not quite finished yet. Another thing I think would be useful is for everyone to take screen shots of there armor so they can update the Item database which seems to be very outdated.

Nvm the guide part. It has to be emailed as well So it would go just as fast.

Mearyk, you have an especially good write up on Stilleto's Orders Intercepted HQ...thanks.

It's also disappointing that a Heritage Quest is just now getting put into this database. If I can't find any reference information in Alla, I link it to Ogaming.

Today's quest updates are brought to you by the letter S.

I must confess, I did a cut and paste for the last half of Stiletto's Orders. I was going to continue but I figured it would be easier to just c&p.

If you scroll back through the updates, you'll see the alphabetical pattern.

That means the next time any quest that starts with "R" gets entered will be...2007?

I was thinking as I was combing through the "New Comments" on the left side - someone was complaining about a Maple Flute not being equipable and can't be placed in your room.

The link for the flute had a generic picture of it, but no information for crafters like recipie compnents, recipie book, skill, etc.

I said to myself, "Self, since you've been updating the quests, why not also update the recipies?"

I shamelessly cut-and-paste from other web sites to here, so at least we can have the info.

Since we seem to be left to our own devices, I figure as a community we can populate things...quests, recipies, items, armor, weapons, etc.

So bring what knowledge you have, search for an item, them post it's details. Be as specific as you can get so people will have the full info. :)
