Melee....Follow

I'am currently a lvl 12 Sorcerer. I know my role is to cast and buff. But I was fighting in Antonica recently (solo) and I could not hit my enemy with my dagger. It might be because my slashing is too low, or a lack of strength. Is it normal for a mage not to be able to hit his target in melee?

Yes, if your strength is woefully low like most of use, forget trying to melee.

Melee is not safe since mobs can hit right through your paper-thin armor, and interuppt your spell casting.

Your best bet is to do it the mage way: stay at a distance and burn them to the ground.

If you absolutely must melee, get a better weapon that has stats on it and make sure all your armor and spells are upgraded.

most times when soloing casters barely will hit there targets with melee as this is not there primary dps, but in groups you should notice a difference and some hits should land as in groups some classes will have lowered the ac and defense of the mob.
also you may want to try getting a hex doll that lowers defense of mob .....it might be usefull for soloing..........i would suggest casting the hex doll on the pull do to its longer cast time.

Thanks for the assurance that i have a right to be extremly weak. I do prefer standing back at a distance, it's the greatest.

With the new combat changes, it's even more dangerous to take on mobs, especially Heroic.

Best to experiment for a while and see what your new threashold is.
