Crafting +1999 +1999 --- Flawless ???Follow

Last night i was crafting away, all alone in FP. Chemistry Table was being unfriendly :) Then in the middle of crafting I needed to "Counter" the Damage I would have taken. But it was called "FLAWLESS REACTION". Never heard of it nor seen it? I thought "Hmm..must be the RARE one"? Rare indeed. It gave me a double +1999 on Total Quality and Total Progress. Needless to say I got a Perfect item. Too bad it was for Chloro Wash :( Has anyone else EVER seen this Mega-Rare occurance?

I believe there are three "rare" reactions that can occur - the one that gives you a 5-10 minute buff; the "flawless reaction/scribing, etc" which gives you an automatic pristine item; and then there is one that gives you a pristine item and I believe a rare item appropriate for your craft.

I have gotten the buff many times, the Flawless Reaction a couple of times, but have never ever gotten the 3rd one (which is why I don't even know what it is called). Smiley: wink

That was indeed the rare event... result as you noted is an instant pristine item, (I once caught that one while crafting a bone desk - T2 rare wood). It also doesn't use any of your resources for that one combine so if you're making a rare, it is like getting a free rare.

The very rare event is called "favor of innovation" and gives you instant pristine AND a free rare harvest.

I actually dislike this 'buff'. I've had it happened to my Provisioner four times [all of the skill buff, which was very ok with me] but worse of all, five times to my woodworker.

Pristine food and drink, I can stomach.... but not when i'm trying to do a complex writ.... pristine or not, the items made are difficult to sell and getting an auto-pristine means redoing the subs for the writ... again. Arghh.....

I can see two options if you're avoiding pristine. One would be to ignore or intentionally fail the test by choosing a different buff. I can't remember what the effect is for failing the buff and this might still cause a large boost to progress, sooooo...

The other option would be to just stop the combine before the end of the current pulse. Would cost you the fuel component but that would be better than making more subs, right?
