How does experience work?Follow

#1 Aug 11 2005 at 5:32 AM Rating: Decent
Hi,

I've noticed that SOMETIMES when I kill a yellow, white, or blue, I get less than 0.1% xp. But other times I get 1%xp.

Is there a feature in EQII, that if you kill the same or similar type creatures, xp earned gets reduces on every second kill or so?

It happens when I'm soloing. In a group, it doesn't seem to be a problem.

This is really frustrating me.
Greatly appreciated on any info.

Thanks
Pete

I've noticed this to and will try It explain the best I can. Killing mobs of the same level will get you the same exp everytime, it just might not be enough for the scroll over percent to pick it up.

When you kill a mob it usualy dosn't give you exactly 1% or 2%, it gives you a funky number. For this example lets use use .6

.6+.6= 1.2
so after 2 kills it will register a change in scroll over percent but the next one:

1.2+.6= 1.8

Will not, see what I'm getting at? Hmmm maybe another example to demonstrate the plus side.

Yesterday my 16 sorc was soloing crows for 2.4 exp a kill, so lets use that number:

2.4+2.4= 4.8

So both kills will register as 2% when they happen, but the third kill:

4.8+2.4= 7.2

The third kill will register as 3%, basicaly you just gotta learn to watch little blue bar instead of the scroll over percent, if you are killing the same mobs you are getting the same exp.

Also, group encounters, each monster gives a small amount of experience and once the whole encounter is defeated you get extra exp. You also want to check if you are fighting regular monster or heroic monster, a level 10 heroic encounter gives alot more than a level 10 regular encounter. Your vitality also comes into the formula, as long as you got vitality you gain double experience.

Other factor can influence, if someone is mentoring you you gain 5% bonus i think
