So whats your's? I like playing tanks so I think I'm gonna make a guardian but I'm already thinking about alts. How well do scouts do with bows? Can you solo with a bow or does it always come down to melee in the end?

I love playing tank..Shadowknight specifically..On an RP server..Love to make up bio for him and RP to the evilness..Haha..Scouts do fine with Bows..Obviously Rangers do the best..And from my experience it always comes down to melee..But I'm not evena Ranger so take my info with some caution..

Ranger = death via bow.

Get yourself a meat shield, stand behind it, and shoot those little arrows to your hearts content. You can also hold down the left and down arrows to run around the mob in a tight circle while still firing your arrows and using *most* of your ranged techniques. It also seems like you get hit less when you are on the run, but that could just be me.

That is because you are not quite right in the head!

Neither am I, though. I am a Guardian all the way. I love my new armor. I love the fact that I can take on 6 green heroics and not break a sweat. The life of a tank is what I want!

As a Ranger, you will be able to solo, as can any class. Your main attacks are with a bow and from behind.

The question is how hard of a mob will you be able to take?

You will do significant damage with the bow, but when the mob comes into melee range, you will loose your Ranger advantage.

Since your main attacks come from behind, it is difficult to get behind the mob to use your skills. You'll then be stuck with the mob always turning to face you, and you have to DPS it to death before it does the same to you.

You could try a stun-jump move. This takes some skill, and precises timing and positioning. You have an attack the stuns the mob for just a few seconds. Stun it and jump to the rear of the mob, following with a rear attack.

You may find you have to jump and turn and click-attack at the same time.

I've also seen Rangers bow-kite mobs as they continuously backpeddle in a circle. Just make sure you have a clear area to backpeddle else you gain more agro.

So take on mobs that are increasingly difficult to see where to cap. Make sure your armor and skills are upgraded, and you have good food/drink on.

Good luck.
