Hello I'm a X FFXI player who has tryed a few other mmorpg games and have been disapointed so far. I'm thinking about trying everquest. What do I buy to get started? Everquest 1? Everquest 2? Updates? I'm a little lost, please help me out. I know I could search and figure it out but I admit it I'm lazy. :)

EQ2 and no expansions yet. a few adventure packs are out which you can download for a small fee. The major expansion comes out in Sept.

So far i enjoyed it. It was very overwhelming at first but once i got in the swing of thigns i have enjoyed myself.

Think of them as two different games.

EQ1 came out about 5 years ago and has gone through many expansions. The graphics are dated, but the information is well documented in many websites and databases.

EQ2 came out last November as a completly new game. It's basic story is that it takes place 500 years after a large upheaval in EQ1. So some of the names and races are the same, but a lot has changed. The graphics are cutting edge.

To try it for free before buying, go here for a free download and trial version. That will show you the mechanics and graphics of the game. Keep in mind that it is but a small sampling of what there is in EQ2.

The search function doesn't work here, so you're safe.

That's unfortunate, because we all appreciate those that make attempts to find info first.
