Opinions please...Follow

HI everyone. I just want some opinions here. As far as gaming performance (lag, etc...), is this upgrade worth the money.

I currently have a g-force 5200 PCI video card with 256 mb of ON-board memory. I am thinking of upgrading to a g-force 6200 OC AGP card, with 256 mb. Will there be an appreciable difference? Or will I be wasting my money?

Thanks in advance. :)

If you have an AGP slot, it's better to go with a 6600. The cheapest versions don't cost a lot more than your 6200.

Better yet, get a Radeon 9700/9800 or a nVidia 5900. Used ones would be quite cheap. Another great buy would be a Radeon 9600 which usually sells for $US 50-75.

*The 6200 doesn't have 256 of onboard memory. It will either have 32 or 64mb onboard. And oddly enough, the 32mb version is faster due to superior memory bandwidth [I forget but I think the 32mb version has a 128bit bus and the 64mb version has a 64bit bus. Supposedly you should be able to make the card with either amount of ram and bus width but I can't find any 64mb, 128bit bus version]. Either way, all 6200s are quite slow in EQ2.
