Tech Specs ProblemsFollow

I just started crafting, thinking that I could do it at work. However, it turns out the computers where I work just barely don't meet the tech specs for eq2. As I finish the installation, I get a 3 part error... i have 8mb too little ram, not the right pixel shading, and 2mp too little texture memory on my video card. So, my question is, is there any way to bypass this error, and reduce quality of the game so much that it could run, just not well? All I want to be able to do at work is craft...I don't need remotely detailed textures or even a decent frame rate. Thanks for any suggestions.

Under the EQ2 button > Options, you can change the settings to Extreme Performance. That is the lowest you can go.

If your system still does not work with those setings, then there is no getting around your equipment shortfalls.

yea, i'd do that...except I can't get to that...i can't even finish the installation. As soon as it would say installation complete, I get the error, so I can't run eq2.

I'll assume you can't make changes to the computers at work...unless you are the IT and own all the computers anyway.

You didn't mention how much RAM you have - I run with 760MB, have been since launch.

You will need to get the video card taken care of. $80 can get you a 128MB card with the required vertex/pixel stuff. That will be enough to run the game on the lowest setting.

So all it would take is to install the new video card, install the drivers, and go.
