Enamelled Glass BottlesFollow

#1 Jun 17 2005 at 12:06 AM Rating: Decent
As an alchemist, is the only way you can get this recipe by buying the apothecary book?

I did this and could not make anything but the crappiest bottle. Is there a trick to making these bottles or do I need to get a Jeweler to make them for me?

Thanks,
Chris

How high are your apothecary skills? I know when my little scholar tried to use geomancy and timbercraft, her skills were abysmally low, and it was near impossible to make anything pristine. You might just have to make a bunch of lousy stuff to raise your skills.

Yes you need the Apothocary book.

A tip...grind out a lot of tempers, washes and resins using your Thaurmategy skills (Apothocary) rather than your chemistry(Alchemist Skill). You'll fail more for a bit but...you still get pristine for these items just not as many. Soon you'll be better at apothocary and capable of fashioning the glass and vials you'll need. Via this method I easily raised my apothocary from 50 to 103 in a session.

Yeah, the problem is that when you first pick up one of the new books, your skill in that area sucks. I had the same problem learning to make patterns with my tailor.

My solution was to just bite the bullet and grind out patterns till I built up the skill but JorgeNickle's idea has an additional bonus.

By turning out a "basic" combine like WORTs, you'll be learning on combines without the additional fuel penalty. (WORTs in apothicary still use 1 fuel per combine, my patterns used 2.)
