I haven't crafted yet.Follow

I wanted to start crafting, so I decided to make coffee. I had the recipe, and it seemed challenging. I can find the two dry ingredients, but I can't find 'liquid.' Is there really an item called 'liquid' or does that mean some sort of generic liquid?

The recipe is looking for the water you buy from the NPC in the T/S instance, (should be right at the top of the list). You could also use dog spit, (canine saliva), fairie blood or anything else that drops from a mob and has an icon that looks like a test tube. You might even be able to use the water you buy to drink but I wouldn't.. it must cost more then the aerated water on sale in the T/S instance.

Here's a very good link with recipies, components, and items.

In the recipie it lists the ingredients and any alternate ingredients. It will even give a "shopping list" of all the components you need to buy to make a particular item, including all sub-combines.

I usually have this site up in a second window when I'm crafting.

Another great site for crafting is EQTraders.

EQTraders has complete recipe lists for just about everything, starting from scratch.

And yeah, stock up on aerated mineral water from your wholesaler, it's ridiculously cheap, and you'll always have the need for washes and tempers and the like.

Dude. i have to laugh at you for wanting to know what liquid you needed. have you everthought of using saliva from mobs or distilled water from a vendor in the trade skill area? they work wonders on your skilling bro

Can't use the water you buy to drink I tried that once when I ran short. If the game calls it a "drink" it's not a liquid..if you can't drink it such as the mob drops or the aerated on the vendor then it's a liquid and can be crafted with.

/Hijack on

Sorta a hijack anyway.

I noticed since the latest patch or so, you can look at a receipe book that shows a breakdown of everything required to make an item. This list includes all subcrafts as well.

My question is this: I noticed in the list that shows total materials required, there are many things missing from that list if you actually start crafting.

An an example: I wanted to make a simple potion for my crafting mentor. It was Vengeful something - easy at 8 craft. It had something like 10 subcrafts in order to get to the final craft (Jeez what a pain!). The only problem was when I purchased items using the complete materials needed list.

Some of the subcraft materials were listed, some were not. There was something called a Transul error or something like that above some ingredients - what the hell is that?!?

Why do the lists not show EVERYTHING needed when it says it will? What is that error message within the receipe lists?

I gave up and told my mentor to shove the half made potion where it will do the most good, and I was not talking about his mouth lol.
