ok, so i didnt do the crafting quest on the island. I couldt find the stupid cellar door because my game was glithcy as hell. Then when my girlfriend logged on after i had already left the island the door was RIGHT where i was standing but would not let me target it there.

anyways, i want to craft but i dont know how to start. I found the crafting guy in The Willow Wood and i also found the guy that sells artisan volumes. BUT he only has volume3 and above.

-do i need volume one to start?
-do i need something else to start?

please help me out ;_;

the artisan books are only sold from level 3+ anywhere because you automatically get all the recipes for pre level 3. Just make whatever you can to get up to level 3 (assuming you are not already there because I think it automatically makes you level 3 after the Tutorial ship ride) then buy the level 3 book and right click it and scribe it. You can now make level 3 tradeskill items.. have fun till level 4 and buy that book and scribe it.. Rinse repeat many many times until you can craft everything your heart desires.
