In all honestly, this is the funnest game out of the box that I've ever played. I'm sure oppinions will change, but just slap my *** and call me a fanboi. =)

P.S. Nice guild name. Just finished "The Naked Empire." Excellent read.

They made a big change from EQLive. It is 500 times more fun for the low levels. After level 10 some more casual players may get frustrated. I am not too sure though because I don't mind the grind at times since the reward from it is great. I can say that for $49, you will get your money's worth if you only play for the free month. Hard to tell if end game will be awesome (I hope it is). I have hit level 20 (in beta) and enjoyed every bit of it.

If you are not 100% sure if you want the game, I must insist that you way a month to get it. Reason is, if you are not sure if you want it then you don't need to grind these first few weeks which will be laggy and buggy as all hell. Next month should be a bit better and you will have a much better experience.

I agree with Lewskinslayer, the game is increadible. My roomates complain about the targeting system, guess thats because they come from FF11. Now all I need is more ram to make those trips into the city a bit smoother.

10, I love this game, the graphics the gameplay, the quests, all of it. It did get a little harder at lvl 10, but thats just because I had not found the right goup yet. I will say that with the shared exp debt I am going to pay alot more attention to my friends list and even more to my ignore list.

I came from EQLive and a small stint in SWG. I've really enjoyed the game so far. Server crashes and rollbacks in the first two days have really upset me. With my experiences with SOE I'm kind of jaded to expect this kind of service though.

I agree with the rest who've said, if you have reservations on trying the game out. Wait a month, let the populations settle in, let SOE get some patches done. Get their servers up to snuff so they're not cratering in the middle of peek-primetime in the US. Then get you a copy and have fun being a newbie all over.

EDIT: I forgot to give it an 8/10 I'm having fun, just not that much fun Smiley: grin

Both, my wife and I, would rate this game a 10.

It has reignited the spark that died a while ago with EQ. We truly enjoy EQII tremendously.

Anytime you go from console to PC in an MMORPG format, the PC will usually win the competition. I would say a near 99.9% chance that you will enjoy EQII a great deal more than EQoA hands down...

8, here. I do think that this far and away much better than EQ1 so far, but I've always tended more towards the games that have a really interesting, enjoyable story to devote my fanboi-ism to. Like Planescape: Torment, or Systemshock 2. Never seen any MMO type games come close to the level of many of my fave single players, but EQ2 does an excellent job in the genre, IMHO.

As far as MMO types go, I'd say 9.5. It really is quite excellent, but I ~never~ give 10s unless it'll get me some lovin'.

I quit EQ1 two years ago because it just got so damn boring. I played SWG for six months, and was even more bored. I beta tested EQ2 for a couple of months and am absolutely hooked on it. SOE has done a wonderful job here. It's easily a 10 out of 10 on the "fun" scale.

easily a 10 out of 10, its actually fun to be a newb with other newbs rather than a newb in a room full of giants..

I also played EQoA (grind, grind, grind, grind) and id say this is by far a hell alot funner (is funner a word?) then EQoA. There is something in this game that EQoA lacked......quests.Id wait though because the first month will be buggy as hell (already we get daily 4hr downtimes). Id give it a nine (wont give it a ten until i masee mid and end game).

10 out of 10 here....the quests are great! The quest journal in EQ2 is AWESOME! It's also so easy to find quests, instead of running around killing mobs non-stop and doing a quest every level or 3 in the other games, you can do unlimited quests here-just talk to a couple of NPC's. It gives you a feeling of having something to do when you're not sure where to hunt next.
