I don't know if that would work...

You'd have to download 4 Gigs worth of files, but I'm pretty sure the patcher is built into the launch pad which has its own set of files associated with it.

Have you opened the wrapping yet? Maybe you could take it back and exchange it for a CD version. Or just get another DVD drive. They really aren't too expensive. Smiley: wink

well i read in another post by olaf:

i downloaded the hole game just useing the eq2.exe file i stuck it in the dirrectory that the starter kit made and ran it then i logged in and it patched the entire game didnt install useing the 11 cd's

and i do have the lanchpad on my computer. so it should work.

as far as returing the game to the store i have no way to get there, and for buying a new dvd player it will take a few days for it to be delivered. i can just set it up to patch and let it run all night.

Jeez man, just get another dvdrom. Go to pricewatch, and you can get 1 for around 25 bucks.

I don't think it's the fact that he isn't getting one. I think it's waiting up to a week for one to get to his house as opposed to being able to play the game over the weekend because he downloaded it over night.

bestbuy and circuit city both sell dvd-roms for pretty cheap. I would go get one. D/L is only patching the problem. If you want to fix it, then buy a new drive.

I bet he's a Democrat :-)

well i cant go to the store and buy a dvd rom. i have no car, and no ride. the closest best buy is 2 bus trips

(trip1: 1h 20 min wait: 40 min trip2: 30 min, then walk about 2 miles buy dvdrom, and walk and wait for buses) not fun.

i will order one from www.newegg.com as soon as i get paid.

downloading the game is a quick temporary fix.

and btw i am a republican.

It figures the first person I see from Jax is a Republican. Why, oh why did I have to live in a red state.
