Ok here is a question. I hear that you can get a pair of J boots if you pre ordered.. Is that true? If so thats just wrong..

Yes this is true, but also there is supposed to be a quest where you can get them at around lvl 20.

honestly I think it should have stayed a pre-order only item.. give the people who did pre-order something permanently nifty.. but I suppose the dragon will have to serve that purpose.

But But but But... /jaw drops/ do you know how hard it was to get them from the first eq.. Well you probably do because thats actually a dumb statement.. Any wayz.. I hope the quest isnt as nutz as in original eq.

You Honestly Believe That because we didnt pree order the game we shoul never be allwed to own those boots? LOL. Well i guess it wouldnt be that bad IF there was an = item to it.. Or i wouldnt even mind your char's boots looking better or something.. But not allowing people to own them just because we didnt run out a month or so before and buy the game is not right at all. You would be looking at a large number of pissed of eq 1 players.

I agree that it should stay with those that pre ordered. If you didn't decide to preorder the game, then the lack of forsight is on you. All you had to do was down 5 bucks first. If there is a quest i hope it is = to the AC ring quest muhahahhahahahahaha. Otherwise everyone and their mama is gonna have one, kills the uniqueness of it.

guys, relax, they are not that good. Probably slowest of all speed buffs and nearly half of the classes in the game can buff themselves faster then those boots can. its not stackable with any other run buffs ether. I did not even claim mine yet nether for my shaman or scout. Maybe when I deside to make that mage.

I still do not even know the STATS on the boots so I have no idea how long I will even wear them In Game. Sadly my post with this question turned into an order bashing thread.

Last I heard, the pre-order version was not as powerful as the questing version will be. So I hear. Then again, I'm almost 30 so my hearing is going...

actually I had EQ2 pre-ordered for about 5 months or so..

5$

it ain't that hard to get... hell I got more than that as an allowance when I was a kid. If you KNOW you'll definitely get a game.. where's the harm in putting in a little front end cash to be guaranteed the nifties? So you bring your lunch to work and have leftovers one day instead of a trip out to eat... Just saved 5$ right there.

Chill ouuut peoples.

The pre-order jboots aren't even that great, they are the lowest rung of speed buffs, they do not stack with any other speed buffs.

If you get any speed buffs (scouts, druids, maybe shaman and others I can't think of) they are pretty much worthless to you anyway because they are better than the boots. The speed boost is very low (seemed somewhere about 10% to me, where EQ1 SoW was somewhere around 35%?), and it doesn't work in combat (no speed buffs work in combat except the sprint ability unless otherwise noted). They only add 3 AC and the speed boost, nothing else. I already considered replacing them with stat boosting boots, but then again I'm a druid so I will get run speed buffs anyway.

It's not even a 10% boost. I haven't done timed tests, but it's barely noticeable, unless you're in a group. Then, you'll notice your mates very very slowly falling behind as you run. Plus, they are a worn effect, not a clicky one. Not to mention, they only have like 6 AC or something. The preorder boots are nothing to get excited over.

Yeah, my response to these boots is to keep them in a bag and when I remember to pull them out while travelling somewhere I will. Other than that, they aren't really any good.

6ac at lvl 10 IIRC. Worn speed buff, so you need to have them equipped for the buff to be on. And the enhancement is very small, around 5% at my best guess.

Put them on my war for the hell of it. He will never get a speed enhancing buff afaik, unless they put in traits that eventually allow it, or maybe SoW potions.
