How does the upkeep work? Automatic? if you log off for a week or 2 do you lose your place? Can you pay in advance?

well, since the games been out for 2 whole days and the upkeep is 7 days I doubt anyone but the beta testers would know... besides, eq2 is supposed to be immersive(sp?) just enjoy the ride, you'll find out when your upkeep comes due.

It'll let you know the rent is due when you try and enter the building. You have a button that is there that says "Pay rent" that replaces the "Rent is due in XX time" button.

I'm not sure how they measure the time, but I think it's based on actual playtime, though I could be wrong, and they could have changed it since beta.

When your house payment is due you will be locked out until you pay the fee. IIRC from beta you could let it slide as long as you like, and then just pay for another week.

Yeah, I remember being able to let it slide as well in beta. You don't have to pay any back rent or anything like that either, so no worries if you plan on not using your room for awhile.

How many houses will there be? Are they an instance? If not, cant see how people can get a house when all are full.

In beta they were pocket zones. And I don't believe I ever saw anything like a limit on them. I remember going to an inn to purchase from a vendor and finding around 120 names to sort through in that one door.
